Lets say I want the cheapest way to build a quality PC with a P4 or good AMD processor. I am kind of a noob when it comes to building pc's, and I am wondering where and what to buy.
Also, can anyone tell me there current configuration and where they got there stuff at?
Thanks
Do you want a tower or a 1u case for the server?
If you want a tower, you could get something like this:
case:
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=143202
motherboard:
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=241094
processor:
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=80177-R
Ram:
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=80059-22
Hard drive:
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=101213-2
Video Card:
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=322659
So basically you would have a 2.08Ghz system with 1GB of ram, a 250GB 7200RPM (8mb cache) hard drive and a 32mb video card (just incase you have to hookup to a monitor) for about $650 dollars.
If you wanted a 1u, take look at the pre-built servers at colomachine.com
