View Full Version : IBM subpoenaes EV1
Not quite sure what the attitude towards EV1 is on a forum like this. I wasn't visiting much when they were in the news last. But I for one smelt something fishy in their deal with SCO. Now IBM, god bless 'em, are starting to fight back. And of course they're doing it via Microsoft. They've subpoenaed EV1 - along with almost everyone else except Sun ...and M$.
It's all starting to look quite beautiful.
so sorry I forgot the url (http://www.groklaw.net/article.php?story=2004042300441149)
(and I apologize, I have great trouble spelling these American words... ;) )
And of course they're doing it via Microsoft.
what?

Ouch.
I think they aren't doing it through MS - per se, but rather, they wouldn't win against MS anyways.

That's certainly not necessarily true. I don't think I could say it better than someone else said it on the linked site...
First get all the facts from the periferal sources, then you'll be armed to know what to look for when you subpoena Microsoft. Consider, MS could have "lost" certain documents; the likelihood that all the periferal sources lost those documents too is remote. Harder for MS to use the "I don't recall such a document" excuse.
and
As for Microsoft, I suspect that IBM wants to pull up persuavive evidence from the other companies incriminating MS before doing so.
I'm sure they'll go after MS, but in due time. You don't want to head there without knowing exactly what you're looking for.

Good hope they get bent, and RM will be the first to get it. All they offer if "CHEAP" sh!t
So RM is not popular around here huh? I remember when all WHT + dog were flocking to Las Vegas and licking his posterior regions. I'm not trolling, honest, just hoping to gain some insight... ;)

Toolz, well I can't speak for anyone here cause I am not them, BUT I can't stand him. I would have to say that he has some issues, why you ask? Well if you post pictures of your house on your own web site I would say something is wrong there. I could go on and on and could care less if that guy is around or not.

The SCO move may have changed some minds. I don't think any of the 'natives' were too impressed by that one.

Thanks to James at Reyox LLC for the link and fits perfectly here :)
RackShack
RackShack - the skank of dedicated hosting.
Thievery
Take a peek at the RackShack TOS, and the very first thing stated, in bold, red font nonetheless, is:
*All Payments To EV1Servers (Everyones Internet) Are Non-Refundable*
http://www.internet-hosting-report.com/rackshack.php
Basically saying "THANK YOU SCAM"
I remember all the sycophants over there. They were like the hynenas from Lion King. Being with that lot left me feeling so dirty. Along with some of the fascist underling mods that really wanted to suck up. (I don't think that crowd have transferred over here...)
What's the backgorund to WHT being sold? Just a normal transaction or connected with the "natives" not being impressed (with the SCO stuff)?

I would put about as much credence in that article as I would in a news confernce by Bagdad Bob.
Did you even read it. It sounds like it was written by a 16 year old with a chip on his shoulder. Lots of accusations but no facts at all.
In fact the whole site comes accross as being written by school kids.
Take for instance the site's top host of 2003, "as voted by loyal users". Were you aware that this hosting company is also owned by the owner of the site? Real credible.
Anyway, I don't know why people have a problem with Robert Marsh. I personally don't know the man so I can't say one way or the other. I doubt that many here know him personally either.

Blue have you ever dealt with Ev1? A lot of sites look like they have been created by "kids" want to talk about "Real Credible" look at WHT forums ran by some people who are mods at Ev1 forums, real Credible? No REAL Biased, just as you are quoting that other site. People are scared of so called big companies and do as they please. I know this for fact and someone here on the boards is "Scared" by RM, I ask myself why? If you are not mature enough to tell the truth and stick up for yourself then you should not be in business. Just my little rant Blue nothing towards you what so ever.
I don't understand how having mods from the Ev1 forums being mods at WHT goes to credibility. They are seperate companies.
Ev1 deals with many thousands of customers and many millions of dollars. You cannot expect every one of them to be happy all the time.

Credibility is ones own personal belief on what their views are. At that one site they are ranting on their views. Also people who are mods at both places will say that one or the other is so called Credibility cause they have to. They have to close threads if there is bashing of the company etc.. Yes they are seperate companies but they are both holding each others balls on the same line.
Yes they deal with Thousands of customers blah blah blah but their practies are very unprofessional. If you have a unhappy customer you refund their money easy as that. If you go buy a clothing article at Saks Fifth Ave and you take it back are they going to say "Sorry no refund" no they are going to try and make everyone happy cause they are making millions and can do that. Ev1 is just trying to nickel and dime their clients. Also a very bad practice. As I stated many times to multipule clients that they sell Solid Sh!t and that is it. You get what you pay for.
I hope theyre gonna need a tube of **** ease when they get done with them

I think the topic has run its course when the topic shifts to **** lube. ::shudder:: If there's another development, let's have a new thread and keep all aware. At this point there's not much to discuss because not much has happened (other than the announcement of the IBM subpoena for EV1).
