View Full Version : Server Needed

I need a small server or a vds to run a live demo of my program. It needs to have cpanel installed and I will need exim removed or disabled on the server.

The demo will be a live demo of cPanelSubs (Automatic creation of Resellers and Sub-Resellers in cPanel) so... email needs to be disabled for obvious reasons. I will setup a cron job to remove accounts every hour.

The demo on my site is just not doing the trick. I really think people need to see a live working demo of the program. This should not be in a shared environment since it might use resources that would be unfair to other users. Also, it requires root WHM remote access key, so that is out of the question.

I am thinking and old clunky celeron or a VPS is what I need. Hosts just need to see this program running live. how it works and how it allows them to manage what is going on in the server. The program will sell itself after hosts get over the initial skeptisism and use it.

I can go as high as $50 a month and would require the host to disable sendmail during the setup. I will need 4 IP's so I can demonstrate the IP pool and delegation part of my program

P.S. I am very happy with my current domain host, they just do not have what I need for this demo.

Check out http://www.nocster.com/closeout.shtml

Get a server there for 50.00 per month.

Not interested in nocster/burst.

I think they are rolling up pant legs at this point.

If you're not interested in cheap providers then I think your budget will not allow to host elsewhere

How much do you think a old used celly or a vds should cost?

If you want your own servers, Nocster's the only place that's going to give you a quality server for 50.00 - and *quality* is questionable there.

Other then that, you'd have to go with a colo really.

Did you read my post?

Thing is, that a dedicated server takes up space. The same space could house a server that makes them $600/mo. -so it's not just about price for what you get, it's about what someone is willing to offer for $50 or less. I have seen a couple of dedicated offers posted here for around this price though. You may want to look through the offers and even if they are old, contact those who posted them to see what is available.

Yeah I agree, you are going to have to search around for special server deals with older or low-end servers. Anyway, Nocster has just added another bandwidth provider, and are adding another XO fiber line, on top of all there Gige lines. ;)

BTW, all of that stuff you can disable yourself.

I have had exactly 15 offers so far. I have no idea why people assume anyone who posts must have just fallen of the turnip truck. One of my biggest pet peeves with forums are the assumptions that are made. One look at my program would have told you that I have done this for some time. At least long enough to have a clear enough understanding of the industry to write a billing and management program (with new features) for it.

I did find a provider. Thanks for your assistance.
