On the home page, the ONLY forum without some descriptive text below the link is the "Programming Discussion" forum. Oh, the mods may try to deny it, but I believe the implication is clear.

Haha. I never even noticed that before.

I think the title is pretty self-explnatory though. ;)

That's not 'hating programmers'.

That's 'feeling that they need less supervision and fewer directions'.

:D

How about:

"See? HostHideout doesn't hate programmers!"

Yeah, 'programming stuff' is about as much as I came up with, heh. ;) :D

What are the most popular programming languages (or at least ones we'd list in the description, not looking to get into a debate on which are the most popular, heh).

Something like: PHP, Perl, ASP/.NET, Java, Javascript, etc.

How deep should it go?

Why don't we start a little competition, and the one who comes up with the best description will get ... hmm ... a bucket of Southern Californian Style Fried Chicken? :D

dont put html in it, thats not a programming language. I think its so funny when people think they are good because they can "program" html.

To be fair HTML really is a programming language.....of sorts.....

But real programmers know and can code in C....:D

I say to myself, OK, remove HTML from the description... then I go to do it and realize it isn't there...

Programming Discussion (http://www.hosthideout.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=31)
Discuss PHP, Perl, ASP/.NET, Java, Javascript, Visual Basic, C & C++, SQL, etc.
Are you trying to confuse me Alan? ;)

I'm a programmer. Does everyone hate me?

Not that I care (unless I get banned) :D :)

"The world of 1s and 0s" is good, though I'm not sure everyone would understand that and know what they can post there. And no, I actually added a forum description, so errrrrmm, unless we all don't like it, then it is good. I would like to add a bit more personality to the forum descriptions, but that will have to wait until some other things are done.

Then again, that would be a good acid test ;->

Wouldn't the world of 0s and 1s equate to it being Binary?

To me binary numbers = serial ports...hardware related stuff...

everything works with 1s and 0s... your programs are converted to 1s and 0s when saved or executed...

chicken, if they dont understand it, they are not supposed to be in the forum... :D ;)

but yeah, you have a valid point.

I love people who tell others that they can program in HTML. Then later on you find out that they are saving there Word documents in HTML. Hohohoho.
