I think that the main issue is when web hosts try and sell unlimited space and bandwidth. If a host sells unlimited emails, etc. it really doesn't effect the server, unless it is not built for the load. In my view, a good host only has max 120 domains on it's client list.

I am not dising rackshack, just saying that with plans like that a rackshack server ain't cutting it you need like a custom server with a hell of a lot of bandwidth, I think ev1 is very reasonable.

Do we really need to answer that kind of reply ? Take a look at a few host (ie.: type hosting in google) and check out their pricing vs gb of most successful of them. Make some investigations then make an opinion.

Best bet for you would probably be to try our services and see what we can do. Then you would probably get a better idea.

Unless you try, you cannot talk against someone... its really unethical.

The cheapest server I have found at the planet is $199/month for 120gb drive and 500gb transfer.

Now, I suppose you could be with ServerMatrix, who are a division of The Planet. The cheapest server there is $99 for 80gb and 1200gb.

That would allow for 24 accounts. $143/month - $99 would leave you $44/month. Subtract the cost of your control panel, your support staff, your merchant account fees, your salary. That would leave you in a fairly big monthly hole.

Please explain how you manage to do this without overselling.

Becuase im a reseller and do not really have to worry about this yet (until i have to do this on my own). My host gives me Unemetered bandwidth and i ofcourse i repeatdly asked him about how this worked and how in god's name he could do this! He said people never really used what they ordered so i asked him if i use 600GB bandwidth a month he would have no problems and he said that would not as long as the content was legal. He is currently on The Planet's Facilities which puts me on the Planet's Facilities. He is overselling, not me as we agreed to do a 600GB plan for quite a low price. This really works out for me as i do not have to deal with all of this and since i just started last month and alreayd am making profit i do not really need a support staff since the clients are quite few and i can do it myself. His answer on his cheap price was "Volume." Now i realize this may not be a perfect response but if u need more explanation please feel free to ask.

So let me get this straight. You would hate for your host to be overselling and you claim not to be overselling yet you are with a host that offers unlimited bandwidth.
You should be honest with your clients. There is no such thing as unlimited bandwidth and it's just a matter of time before your host goes under offering it to resellers.
