How do I set this up? All of a sudden e-mails are being blocked:
Reason: Remote host said: 553 sorry, your mailserver (XX.XX.XX.XXX) is rejected. Reverse DNS queries for your mail server IP fail.

Thanks!

You need to contact your DC and find out who has authority for rDNS.

If they do, they will tell you what they need.

If you do, you should ask them what to do. They may or may not help you, as doing your own rDNS is a bit complicated.

Thanks. I did call them & all was well. Not too sure why after 2 weeks that became a problem. :? But at least it is working now.

You can use dig and/or nslookup to verify your reverse information by looking up in the in-addr.arpa zone. Use google for more information.

Greetings:

http://www.dnsstuff.com/ and http://www.dnsreport.com/ are two great sites for seeing what is going on with your domain names, IP's, or that of your customers.

If you run through the SPAM database (middle column, top), you can see whether or not your mail server IP has a reverse dns or is in a spam database.

Thank you.
