Hey guys

I'm currently working on my own business and would like some feed back on how many clients to expect a week if it got to a reasonable status. I know at first it will be tough but with the right advertising and marketing what is the average number sign ups per week?

I'm not expecting you to give me an answer if you don`t wont to expose such confidential information.

Thanks.

depends entirly on what sort of clients your talking about. If you're chassing budget clients then you may have to pull in dozzens a day to stand still. And you'll see almost as many leave each day as join. Where as if you are offering large reseller accounts then you may be content with fewer sign ups since you will be earning more per customer.

I personally go for the quallity end of the market and I'm priced appropriatly. So I'm quite happy with just a few new cutomers a week. For my web design work, I'm content if I get one new client every other month or so. But then I've built my business to the level where I have enough comming in form my existing client base that I don't need to chase after new business all the time.

Remember, it's easier to keep an existing customer than it is to find a new one.

There is no one answer for you in this case. Every business operates in a different way. It depends on your marketing and market exposure. It depends on your target market. It depends on your pricing.

Do not develop a strategy based on how many customers you eventually will get per day/week/month. It is just a bad business model.

I agree with nsusa. There is no formula you can use to judge client signups. Some companies have lots of signups, some have very few signups, both may lose clients faster than they gain new ones.

Dont assume anything when setting up. Be prepared to stick it out no matter how slow things start. It took us about 6-12 months just to break even, was all well worth it in the end.

We get between five and ten new signups per day. BUT - it took us 7 years of hard work, long hours and not many vacations (until recently). My point? If you are willing to dedicate a huge portion of your life to this for awhile...you'll probably eventually see a decent payoff.

Good luck!

We're in this 6-12 month range now and we're still in the red with hosting, but we have plenty of income coming in from other aspects of the biz to support the hosting loss. This should be expected and predicted when starting a new venture. That's why it's always nice to have other income coming in while other aspects of your biz matures.
