First off, I found this site, and LOVE IT.
Okay, I do not think that I want to go into the whole domain reselling. Who would you all recomment I sent my clients to get a domain?
I am looking for some real answers, not ads please.
I want to send my users to someone that is "cheap" and not tring to "overlap" my service offerings.
Thank you all.

I second what Toolz suggested, namecheap.com. I also have used and like Dotster as well. eNom is good if you have an $8.95 account otherwise if you go directly through them, the price is higher.
I still like Namecheap best and have just moved several domains from Dotster to them.
I haven't actually got around to moving any domains over there yet but I have an account there and it's on my to do list. I've seen outstanding customer service so far.

who do *you* use for your domains - why not direct them to there ?
my recommendation would be to get an enom a/c, setup registry rocket and send them to that url - at least that way you get some benefits
commission on the sales
happy customers
the ultimate ability to manage the domains , setup dns etc shoudl you find in the future you need to
etc

enom or wild west domains. Our wild west domain account actually lets us resell domains cheaper than our enom account.
After being firm in my thinking of using purely GoDaddy and then maybe Register.COM....
I am now startin to move tihngs over to NameCheap.... yes - I realise I said I would never go there, but it seems people often praise them on customer service, and the actual service being one of the best.

Well I am using my old hosting company as the place I buy MY urls. But I am moving to a new hoster, and do I think it might be bad practice to send a client to another hosting firm :)
I am not looking for a place to get a cut of the URL register, I am just looking to make sure that I do not send them off and they do not come back....

Then you may want to consider something with an api so you can include that in your website. This is something enom offers as well as some others. With them, you'd actually prepurchase x dollars of domains and can charge your customers whatever you want to buy domains. This way your customers don't need to leave your website to buy their domains and you can choose to charge them what you pay for domains, more, or less.

Go to enom or directi, namecheap is just a reseller
I notice that namecheap is now hosting. Does not bother me but does put them over into the "competing" arena.

Most registrars offer "value added" services ike hosting etc since the margins on domains is limited. There are a few pure play domain only registrars
I just moved my domains from Registerfly.com to MyInternetSource.com. I needed some help transferring and I "called" them and was helped immediately. I also emailed them with some questions and they got right back to me. That's the kind of customer service I look for in a registrar or any site for that matter. :)
