If i want to buy a domain the transfer it, how is this done?

Say i bought www.123.com and wanted to transfer it to someone else, how would this be done?

I saw on some websites it has to be 6 months old before you can transfer

it all depends where you register it in the first place and where you want to transfer too...

lets say you registered it at enom and want to transfer to godaddy...

https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/transfers/landing.asp?isc=&se=%2B&from_app=&mscssid=&pl_id=1&prog_id=GoDaddy

when you register a domain you enter into the WHOIS info the admin email contacts...

if you want to transfer a domain to godaddy visit the link above, pay for the transfer and wait. it takes a few days.

you will get an email from goddady to your admin email of the domain you wanted to transfer, requesting your permission... you accept and wait for godaddy to work it out with your register.

not very hard is it?

it's painful if you're with one of those $35 a pop outfits (net sol, register, ...) - otherwise no problem. Just log in and follow the links.

you dont need to put $100 into an enom account to do somethig common misunderstanding

you *do* have to pre-fund a reseller account *if* you want to get the best pricing for that level of reseller account and use the enomapi and website to register the domains

you can get a free enom 895 account from lots of ppl, and setup a registry rocket service within it, use that to buy the domains and voila - no pre-fund necessary

or geta retail accountwhere you pay 1 at a time for the domains

What places can i get a retail account that accepts paypal? As i would like to pay 1 at a time instead of pre-funding.

ah, my mistake, retail accounts are c/card only - no paypal payment option - just tested it ...

i paid for a domain via paypal, you have to wait 6-12 months or something before you can transfer.
