Ihave win 2ksever on my pc and i want to replace it with win 2k so how do you save your music files so you wont loos them when you format the hdd?
burn them to a disk? Transfer them to another drive, ftp them up to a server ect.

When you format your drive, partition off enough so that you won't have to "save the music" every time. I generally create a 20g partition on every drive, specifically for music.
That's the best approach right there.
As far as doing it now, burn it to cd, or if y ou have a dvd writer, make a data dvd, full of 'em.

ya, unfortunately. Each cd can hold around 700m of data, so that's about 700 minutes (average) of music. I'm not sure how many you have but there's a general idea.

80 min is for music and the 700mb is for data so when i burn the music on the cd i burn it as data?

Then put your music back wherever you want it.
However, you should create a separate partition to put your music on in the future so that you don't have to do all that again.

Yeah i would like to a seperate partition for the music but my hdd is only 20 gig so u think i should split it in half 10 nfor music and 10 for everythinkg else.

Don't see why not, it'd save you a lot of time in the future.

copy it the same way you would any other file, make sure the partition exists in windows first though.

You can either hightlight the files and click on copy then go the the partion and click on paste or drag and drop, Im assuming 2k has that feature neveer used it myself. You should be able to do all the files in one go.
If the music was saved as mp3's then you should get around around 176 to 220 songs on a cd. Thats working on songs being around 3 to 4 minutes long which equal around 3 to 4 meg.

Actually, no there isn't
My advice:
get what you can off the cd, then toss it (after burning what's on it somewhere else).
If you're using cdrw, this is most often the case when you've erased and re-burned the cd itself too many times.
