This site needs some more advertising then it would be great :) I like it more than WHT because there isn't as many rules and stuff. and the fact that there isn't banners everywere... just need some more traffic and this place would be the greatest :)

Yeah, yet another thing on the to-do list. I'd like to develop a strong, smaller user base and will be contacting members about some of the new things that I have to get off my donkey and do. We're testing co-branding, advertising is coming soon (really this time), and I'd like to get one more thing up before a mailing.
Also, don't change the rules and all leave them as they are... well they would be perfect for not the topic hack were the threads are shown by last topic not last post... I think that is crap because some people say it is to give everyone a chance.. the way I think of it is if someones post isn't getting any replies it is because there either asking to much or making stupid comments.

This is only in the ad forums and will be coupled with a limit on how often users can start a thread. it's free, I know some won't like it, but it's free and I'd rather not have just the popular or well known hosts in the top position and it's free. As you said, it's to give everyone their 15 minutes of fame (plus it's free if I didn't mention that before! :D).
lol, everyone says it... *thinks about starting one without that stupid hack* be the only one that I know of :p
EDIT: Forgot to right this
You should try it out for a week or so see if you get more members .. ( just a thought )

It was put on recently, hasn't affected anything either way. Coming from a busy board, I know how it is both ways, and prefer threads that don't move. If you want one that stays at the top, there'll be an option for that soon.
Edit: I just saw your post in the Pub, and understand your frustrations about the listing dropping onto page 2, etc. Neither way is perfect, but another advantage of 'thread drop' (or whatever you want to call it), is that users cannot bump their own ad threads, which saves moderation resources.
As I said, no perfect way, but it's a free way :D
eh okie, well here for now it is fine because there isn't much traffic ( no offence ) but at WHT they should turn it off so it is far to the people who actually have a good offer.

None taken :D We've only been open a few months (as opposed to a few years elsewhere). Once there was enough traffic, it became a problem there and we had to fix it. I'm no longer there however, so if you want it changed there, you'll have to appeal to the current mods.
im thinking the heavy exposure in/on pingzine should help traffic a bit. what ya think?

For that to work PingZine itself needs a large reader base.

I think 500+ members in just a few months is pretty impressive! Keep it up, :chicken:.

I think it's a good start :D I would like to add at least one section more to the site, then stroke the existing userbase and make it stronger. I feel that a strong base is needed, and I see the beginning of that. HHO in a few years will be humming hopefully :D
I am not saying that 500+ Members in a few short months isn't impressive just we need them 500+ members to be more active. :)
