What do most of y'all use to build demos? Macromedia Flash? Qarbon Viewlet Builder? Something else?

We use Flash MX but we are thinking of buying the demo's now, although flash does them just as good, but it takes a while

I haven't decided if it's worth spending $200 for the software and custom building demos myself or buying premade demos for around the same price. It would save me time the 1st time around in the short run to buy premade demos but if something changes like with a control panel or other software or I want a demo of something not as common, then it can get costly to have premade demos. If I actually spend the time to build the demos, I guess I could always resell them to pay for some of the time to create them. But I wanted to get some other software options since I only had a couple so far.

Well, we thought about taking screen shots then putting them together and find a simple java script refreshing different pitures each time, its a cheap and time consuming, but its good to start with if you don't have much money to spare.

The common tutorials made are using the software called 'RoboDemo'. It's just what you need to make flash demos. Worth the money also so if this suites you then the price will only be numbers.

You touched upon it, but seemed to gloss over the "your time" factor. If one option costs the same as another, but with one you have to learn how to use the software, spend time creating the demos, etc. and the other you just pay, I'd personally just pay and do something else with my time. Pre-made demos would have to be 4-6x as much as doing it myself for me to even consider it.

You could also try PowerBullet Presenter (http://www.powerbullet.com). It's also free and not too shabby. It has a good number of features, and an easy drag-n-drop interface. I use this occasionally, and it's not bad for a free piece of software.

I would have to agree with Peter about Demo Demo.

If you are set on making your own, RoboDemo and Camtasia Studio are the two best on the market I believe.

Robo Demo is the best software. I downloaded the trial and love it. The only problem is that it costs $600, looks like it will take a while before I buy the software. Easy to use, flash-based, no flash skills required!

This is what I really hate about Macromedia. They gouge customers like crazy.
When Ehelp owned RoboDemo it was $200. (less than a year ago)
And Macromedia probably wonders why there are so many warez versions of their software.

I vote you jsut go and buy from DemoDemo.com - vito is a sound guy and his flash demonstrations are excellent. :)
