101sales's post about some band made me think about this..

What is the greatest song you have ever heard??

For me, it's very very hard.

I'd have to say the minute I heard this song, I was stuck on it.. The song is called "Changes" and it's by 2Pac (not the original artist).

For me....the greatest song that IMMEDIATELY got me hooked was a tune by

Dubstar and it's called "stars"....

Any music that can stay on the top of the charts for as long as these ones did has got to be worth mentioning ... with that said I'll chime in with Pink Floyd, it's hard to pick just one song as I think it's more of a 'whole album deal' and even then it's hard to pick just one :p: Dark Side of the Moon and of course The Wall

More recently however I really got hooked on a song titled "My Truth" by Anna Loos -- It seems to be a hidden gem for me as I've not been able to find an album by her. I heard the song first in a movie titled "Anatomie" and had to hook the sound track to snag it...

Ya know what.... this question is too hard -- I have too many favorites :banghead:

Good call, I would have to go with Time from Pink Floyd from the DSOTM album. Though a tough contender is When The Tigers Broke Free, which wasn't available (asside from bootlegs) until recently. Tigers was one of the songs in the movie that didn't make the Album.

Some of my other favorites:

- Dire straights: Brothers in Arms
- Led Zeppelin: Babe I'm Gonna Leave You
- Jethro Tull: Crosseyed Mary
- Great White: Wasted Rock Ranger (funny)
- Ennio Morricone w/Blizzard: Forecast
- Iron Maiden: Infinite Dreams

Too much...

Ya - Dire Straits, like them
The Used - good group
Led Zeppelin - Classic
Supertramp - First group that got me hooked on classic rock
Guess Who, or any band Bauchman played in :D (BTO etc..)

Hey - anyone here going to Warped Tour this year.? I'd go to the Vancouver show but my responsibilities lie else where. ;)

Lyrics: In Frehnch (In English)
---------------------------------------
Aïcha - Khaled (1996)
----------------------------------------
Paroles & Musique : Jean-Jacques Goldman
----------------------------------------
Comme si je n'existais pas (Like this, I don't exist)
Elle est passée à coté de moi (She passed next to me,)
Sans un regard, Reine de Sabbat (Without even a look, Queen of the Sabbath)
J'ai dit, Aïcha, prends, tout est pour toi (I said, Aicha, take it, everything
is for you)

Voici, les perles, les bijoux (Here, pearls and jewels)
Aussi, l'or autour de ton cou (Also, gold around your neck)
Les fruits, bien mûrs au goût de miel (Fruit, ripe with the taste of honey)
Ma vie, Aïcha si tu m'aimes (my life, Aicha, if you love me)

J'irai où ton souffle nous mène (I will go where your breath takes us)
Dans les pays d'ivoire et d'ébène (In countries of ivory and ebony)
J'effacerai tes larmes, tes peines (I will erase your tears and sorrow)
Rien n'est trop beau pour une si belle (Nothing is too much for one so
beautiful)

Oooh ! Aïcha, Aïcha, écoute-moi (Aïcha, Aïcha, listen to me)
Aïcha, Aïcha, t'en vas pas (Aïcha, Aïcha, don't leave ??)
Aïcha, Aïcha, regarde-moi (Aïcha, Aïcha, look at me)
Aïcha, Aïcha, réponds-moi (Aïcha, Aïcha, answer me)

Je dirai les mots des poèmes (I will said the words of poems)
Je jouerai les musiques du ciel ( I will play the music of heaven)
Je prendrai les rayons du soleil (I will take the rays of the sun)
Pour éclairer tes yeux de reine (in order to light up your royal eyes)

Oooh ! Aïcha, Aïcha, écoute-moi (Aïcha, Aïcha, listen to me)
Aïcha, Aïcha, t'en vas pas (Aïcha, Aïcha, don't leave)

Elle a dit, garde tes trésors (she said, keep your treasures)
Moi, je vaux mieux que tout ca (Me, I am better than that)
Des barreaux forts, des barreaux même en or (Strong bars, even if they are bars
of gold)
Je veux les mêmes droits que toi ( I want the same rights as you)
Et du respect pour chaque jour (and respect every day)
Moi je ne veux que de l'amour (I only want love)

Aaaah !
Comme si je n'existais pas (like this, I don't exist)
Elle est paséee à coté de moi (She passed next to me,)
Sans un regard, Reine de Sabbat (Without a look, Queen of the Sabbath)
J'ai dit, Aïcha, prends, tout est pour toi (I said, Aicha, take it, everything
is yours)

Nbrik Aïcha ou nmout allik [Je te veux Aïcha et je meurs pour toi] (I want you,
Aicha, I'm dying for you)
'Hhadi kisat hayaty oua habbi [Ceci est l'histoire de ma vie et de mon
amour] (This is the story of my life and my love)
Inti omri oua inti hayati [Tu es ma respiration et ma vie] (you are my breath
and my life)
Tmanit niich maake ghir inti [J'ai envie de vivre avec toi et rien qu'avec
toi] (I want to live with you and I want nothing without you)
