Was searching for something on google not even related to LLC's and this popped up in the google adwords. http://www.smallbizincorporator.com/incorporate/static/whatwedo.cfm?&CFID=1044471&CFTOKEN=63179395

Is it some sort of a scam? They say that it only costs $25 + state fees. What's the catch?

this seems very cheap. from what it says there if you were to incorporate in oregon it would cost just $45 to be totally registered.

that cant be right.

Didn't think so either. Someone else want to shed some light on this?

Don't do it. It's real easy to do yourself and save the $25. I'm in Arizona and my boy just created an LLC for himself over the internet by going to the state's website and filling out the forms, printing them and mailing it in. It's all explained as to what you need to do to get your business legal.

Most likely, you will have to fill out a form on the web site. This information will either be manually or automatically populated to a form that is sent to you to sign. As was said, filing for an LLC (in most cases), is extremely simple and they are just charging $25 for somethign you could easily do yourself. I doubt it is a scam, just not needed (IMHO).

Here's an example of the California forms: http://www.ss.ca.gov/business/llc/forms/llc-1.pdf

We did it via the Internet, was $128. Recieved confirmation email the next day and our LLC was formed.

Wish I was in Florida the state fees for LLC in Texas are $225 alone.

Well, though there are certainly many reasons not to, you do not have to file in your home state. To make things easier, you probably want to, unless your tax advisor/lawyer tells you differently.

And the nice thing about Inc. in Florida is that there isn't a state income tax! :)
Extra nice reason to be here in FL. :D

Lets see...

On the one hand there is no state income tax, on the other hand there are flying cockroaches the size of bats. Hmmm...tough call :D.

This company seems like its a little cheaper than biz filings: http://www.activefilings.com

This filing business seems pretty lucrative, maybe this would be a good business venture.

Why do you think many law firms are eager to handle immigration filing, bankrupcy, new businesses, etc. It's all a matter of filling out paperwork. Pretty much like doing your taxes. There's no mystery to it, one just needs to familiarize one self with the required information. Often times it isn't worth your time to, so paying someone already familiar with the procedures makes more sense.

On a side note: has anyone formed a LLC in Pennsylvania? If so, how easy was it?

Or as we like to call them... "Palmetto Bugs"

They're of the roach family... but they're not really roaches. They come in no matter what -- not because your house is a mess or gross or in need of food (like regular roaches do). These come in in search for a dry place, or a damp one (whichever it is outside).

We rarely find them in our house, if we do, they happen to come in at night when we go in and out (they're super fast!). And if we do find them in our house... they're usually in our bathroom. In our bathroom cupboard (dry place), or in our tub (wet place).

Down there, don't be afraid of the big ones... the ones you want to really worry about... are the really small ones (real roaches). Thank God we've never found any of those here! ;)

I haven't seen a roach for the past 9 years I've lived in Miami.

I have seen the whatcha ma call it at the Casino next to the Everglades. THose "things" that are small with the hard shell, the ones in the movie "The Mummy"? Ewwww..

Roaches aren't that bad. It's that dang scorpion I almost stepped on in my bedroom that still gives me the heebie-jeebies (it's not the ones I *see* that bother me...).

Gotta love Arizona

Florida is full of them both... palmetto bugs... lizards (they're everywhere)... an occasional scorpion... huge wolf spiders... I'm glad we keep our door closed 99% of the day (except for coming in and out of the house)
