We launch January 1, 2003 to ring in the new year!

The forum will be one of three (or more) sections. Other sections will take some time to get up, but that's partially why the header is incomplete at this time.

That was the point. Hopefully this will be an extention of other forums, it isn't meant as a replacement. And I like that emoticon as well (have a smokin' chicken one as well which will be up soom).

2) I'm working on it ;)
3) I'm not a big fan of avatars personally. I'd rather it load fast that have tons of graphics, though I realize many people would like avatars.

Good to see another forum up - this one looks like it's going to be a good place for discussions and questions. Hot dang, another learning resource (read: another reason for me to procrastinate the latest tweaks to my site: "I'm doing research on this thing over here, and that issue over there...it's important!")

I agree with you about the no-avatars thing: I'd prefer a fast load time. I've got a question about that, though: if avatars are allowed, and someone has avatar display turned off, is the page load time significantly different than for those who have avatars turned on and are viewing the same page? (Assuming all other variables are the same.)

1) The basic template is from vbskins.com
2) We have more than before but I'll be adding more as time goes on.
3) I'm somewhat anti-avatar. I'd like to keep the forum as fast as possible for non-DSL/cable users, and avatars slow the page load times even more than vBulletin does on it's own :(

I really love this forum skin. At first I thought the person who made it was drunk because 1/2 the images were missing (traced the domain and it seemed fastservers was having issues) but now that everything is displayed I must say it's very nice.

Only thing I don't care for too much is the boxes/centered information about the post author but that's no big deal anyways.
