a good control panel(s) that is either free or very cheap, if possible to have a root server admin itnerface, then reseller and end user - although a root and end-user is acceptable"

http://webcp.can-host.com is a PHP Free CP

http://www.simplecp.com is a CGI Free CP, however, you will have to contact them about alphaing it, but not much has been done in awhile it seems.

EDIT: I also heard there is an addon for Webmin that allows an end user and so on, not sure.

webcp is ok, but i would say its worth spending the extra for one of the more robust products.

Which 'robust' product do you refer to?

To be honest while Ensim is a pretty good CP, i just don't like it - that's just my preferance.

Any suggestions?

well if your going for *nix then i would say cpanel. i know it gets alot of bad press but i still think its a lot more hard warring than most other panels out there.

not plesk though. thats just cr*p.

Well, CPanel isn't cheap, you can goto www.cpskins.com and get it for $60.00 a mont externally. Plesk is not cheap, and they don't offer monthly plans last I checked.

However, here is a cheap solution I just came across:

zervex is an interesting option. i have installed it a couple of times and not liked it. i don't really know why though. theres certainly nothing of consiquence wrong with it.

DSM looks quote nice actually, but now i wish i never met cPanel coz every feature of every automation system i find is immediately compared with cP in my mind!

cpanel really sets the standard at the moment

Although its brilliant that cpanel sets standards and such, without any disrespect to nick and the cp team or anything i really wish there would be some 'closer' competition.

It's $55 for the first month, and then $60 every month after that.
