Here's the situation, let me know what you would do. This is a completely hypothetical situation ;)

John is a member of the Farmers Union. John is also president of the anti-farmers union. John presents all his contact information as "John," but whenever contacted, "Jake" answers. John presents false information and deceives his fellow union members. John is now elected president of the Famers Union. You, as a member of this great Farmers Union believe if nothing else, John should come clean about his relationship with the anti-farmers union and shady business practices. So what do you do?

Obviously this is a member of the Web Hosting community, I thought the whole farmer thing wouldnt throw you guys too far off, guess I was wrong. See, I personally dont believe this is a big deal, even though Ive had conflict with this person in the past. I have since pondered whether I would continue to contribute to the community, Ill have to sleep on this one.

This is not a big deal, I wont lose any sleep over it, but therent are too many other things to be doing at 2:35am when you're waiting for your laundry :)

I wouldn't worry two much about the John/Jake thing. I know at least one person who goes buy Jake, but his given name is John.

As far as the second point, I agree John should certainly make his affiliations known if he is in a position of power.

I'll be honest and say that I don't 100% understand the situation and what you are trying to ask exactly. I know you're trying to set up an analogy of sorts, and I understand the analogy (somewhat), but not how it applies to anything (at least not web hosting).
