Due to my amazing ability to cook anything i have decided to put a cookbook online with my recipes

and back to the real world.....

basically i am looking for a script to put recipies online so my family can share the various recipes they have.

i have looked through the various script repositories but can't find anything much. also looked at a few link directories and can't find anything there either.

any ideas folks?

Hmm... not sure if there are any pre-made reicpe scripts out there, but a message board system could be perfect. You could have seperate forums for each type of dish (ie. desserts, appetizers, lunch, dinner... etc.) And let people post them and reply/rate them in there?

It would be nice if there was a script though so the format was consistent, but if you can't find one and can't code your own, a forum setup may be the best way :)

i was thinking of that, but i can see it getting a bit messy.

was also thinking of a directory style script but again that could get messy.

the only other 'pre-made' style i could go down would be categorised articles. any suggestions there?

I agree that a forum would probably be the best idea, different application that one might use a forum for, but I think it would be neato! Has built in search too!

I know that one site, The Red Kitchen, has used Movable Type to create a recipe site. You may be interested in what they did.

...and the software's at

http://www.movabletype.org (currently donateware, and I've donated a couple of times. It's that good and versatile a script.)

EDIT: fix URL for the red kitchen. It's net, not com. Sorry.

that movable type script looks ideal!
