Did the last Microsoft update kill all of the password protected fields you had entered or is it just me? I have to re-enter all of this. I'm hoping it sticks, as on my laptop (which I've posteed about before), it *never* keeps the username/pass and I have to enter it every time.
Grrrrrr.... :bs:

I was more annoyed about them disabling url's in the format http://username:password@url - very annoying indeed, and there are legit uses for it, which they couldn't care less about.
Aha... hadn't realised i'd never posted here before. :banana: I guess i just popped my hosthideout cherry :)
I havn't updated mine yet, maybe i'll do it next weekend.

It seems to be working now (odd when that happens).

btw to fix the windows http://username:password@url problem...
Open notepad and past the following into it (note, this has only been tested on XP Pro and XP Home, older OS it may not work on):
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_HTTP_USERNAME _PASSWORD_DISABLE]
"iexplore.exe"=dword:00000000
"explorer.exe"=dword:00000000
Paste the above into a text file (including the Windows Registry Editor line). Save this file somewhere on your computer with the below name:
Enable username&password in IE.reg
Save this using the all files format (note the reg extension, so don't save as txt).
Now go to where you saved this file and double click it. When the window pops up asking you if you want to add it to your registry choose yes. Then close all open browser windows. This will fix it so you can log in like you always have.
