Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone has some feedback on using mypaysystems.com as a credit card merchant.
Do they provide everything I need to accept online payments? Merchant account, gateway, etc.
I was quite surprised when I went to their contact page, no email contact?!
Thanks for reading

You can contact James Acker: jacker@paysystems.com (T-Free) 866.699.9021 ext. 2109

They are a third party processor - which means that their name would appear on the consumer statement. But their is lower startup costs & usually no monthly minimums. If you are processing on the average less than $1000 a month, you should consider a third party processor

I would NOT recommend using PaySystems.com

They have left many webhosts feeling like they were shafted. See: http://whmautopilot.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=2636&hl=paysystems&st=20
and: http://whmautopilot.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=2461&hl=
and: http://whmautopilot.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=2523&hl=paysystems\.com

It seems that PaySystems turned off several thousand of us who had ONE chargeback in our history. No warning. Not even interested in obvious ratios. Stay away from them!

well.... I think every provider has strong points and week points. I found Paysystems checking cc very carefully, even it's a bit slower than 2Checkout, a competitor, but I am happy with their service.

you can also see many webhosts having problems with 2Checkout or other providers

Hmm true, I can understand that also.
Now what do I do LOL

Actually with any third party processor or your own merchant account, this can & does happen. Someone was just complaining on another forum that authorizenet.com shut him down with no warning & he was not doing any adult website activity or no chargebacks.

If you are processing less than $1,000 a month, consider a third party else if it is more or about $1000, consider your own merchant account.

I agree with Corey. If you are procissing more that $1000, consider your own merchant account. You will have more power to setup your checkings. Otherwise, as mentioned, I am happy with Paysystems :)

fluro, you have a right to be skeptical. But as with any larger company that has thousands of clients - you are going to hear horror stories, lawsuits, etc. Any company that you pick, you will find people that will tell you bad things & you will find a few such as gate2vn that will tell you they are happy with the company. People enjoy complaining & enjoy it even more when someone listens.

Paysystems is cheaper than 2CO as far as the discount rate. But you need to determine first if a third party processor or a merchant account is for you. After that determination, you can then ask questions about the discount rate, transaction rates, monthly fees, chargeback rates, etc.

Corey,

I agree that many people seem to thrive on complaining. It is quite sad to see it. But, that does not always mean that their complaints are not legitimate. Secondly, when a mass volume of people are reflecting the very same problem (not just repeating one) it should be taken with much more than a grain of salt.

I, for one, do not like to degrade any company that is making an honest effort to remedy their problems and help their customers.
I believe that the most important thing in business is not the bottom line (ie profit) but customer satisfaction. If you are truly taking care of the customers, then profit will come.

In the case of Pay Systems, what I and many others discovered, they do not appear to put the customer first. Many of us were quite happy with the service and functionality that they were giving us. You can imagine the surprise when they pulled the rug out from under us suddenly. As reflected in the forums mentioned above, this turned out to be the rule instead of the exception.

Whistle-blowers are NOT complainers. They are honest folk who don't want to see others get burned.

I agree. fluro must realize though that the relationship can be terminated at anytime, either by the third party processor or the credit card processor. It's just not Paysystems that shuts people down. We even have a few clients that have us as a back up. They pay their monthly dues & sometimes pipe transactions thru that account. It is just one of the risk. The third party processors are under more scrutiny because Visa/Mastercard just do not like them. I am actually surprised Visa/MasterCard have kept them still for this long.

I am using PS and have had no problems in the months I have been with them.

I am thinking of using PS. However this term scared me off.

(c) In the event PaySystems terminates the Agreement for cause, or Merchant terminates at will without notice, Merchant shall pay as liquidated damages, and independent of and not in lieu of any other action by PaySystems, and not as a penalty, either: (i) the aggregate average monthly amount paid to myPaySystems by Merchant calculated over the preceding three (3) months and multiplied by the number of months remaining in the then current term; or (ii) $2,000.00 in the event the Agreement is terminated within the initial three months.

i think as long as you let them know you are okay - didn't know about the 3 months thing though :(

My host is using PaySystems and from user's point of view, it's troublesome to change credit card info. User can't change card type (e.g. visa to mastercard). So I must re-register and my host would cancel the old billing.

Yea, that's kind of scary though. I mean they tell about that term after I pay the $50. There goes $50.

if you care about your customers and don't want to get angry letters from them, don't go with myPaySystems.
I've been trying to get a refund that I was entitled to for a few weeks and every refund request I make through there online system gets deleted the next day. Dodgy business practice and it didn't take me long to find other people who have had problems with them.
