Hey all,
I have a server at httpd.net which hosts everything but I want to spread this across 2 new machines.
httpd sold out so i need a dedicated server for my shell clients (i only host around 40 accounts at the moment with httpd).

The shell server is only a 1.2Ghz 512mb 40 gig hdd machine with unlimited incoming (ie: DDoS) traffic and 50 gigs outgoing.
It does have 128 IP's though as I have quite a few public hostnames (http://freebsdbox.net/vhosts.html) and i also host some personal hostnames of course. I can live with 64+32=96 IP's but Im not sure if I can go back to 64 with the way things are.
I definitely want better hardware than my current box!

Now for the webbox, this will run bind/http/ftp/qmail and will point all of my vhosts to the shell server, plus host a few small sites. It will use barely any traffic in the first month or two but it would be nice to have a few hundred gigs of data transfer in a package for future usage, because i will be hosting more sites in time to come.
i can live with only a few IP addresses on the web server and both machines will run FreeBSD.

It would be nice if theres some companies out there with 2 seperate datacenters to cater for these 2 different types of hosting. maybe i can get a discount on both boxes? ;)
Like everyone I suppose I really dislike setup fee's, but if there's a nice monthly price to go with it, I dont mind as much.
Looking at servermatrix Im hoping Ill get some quotes for the web box around the $100-$150US/mo mark for a decent machine with some premium bandwidth (no cogent).
I realise Ill need to spend more on the shell server so thats why Im hoping to receive some quotes in the $200US+/mo area.
please post here or contact bodge@fluro.net with quotes.
appreciated!
PS: if you can offer a shellbox with 64 ip's or something please get in touch anyway, ill look at all offers. thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply.
How long has eTecc been in business?
I assume you allow IRC hosting because you've included the ip's I need for the shellbox, yeh?
Can you please give me more information about your network, I can't seem to find much on your website.
Is 100 gigs of transfer both incoming and outgoing? I use no where near that but I was thinking 200 gigs or so might be better. How much is extra bandwidth?
Do you automatically nullroute IP's if a server is attacked?
I prefer to ask these questions first before jumping in.
Thanks

Hi Daniel thanks for the post.
I was really hoping to deal with a datacenter directly, even a employee of the noc or whatever.
Its just that.. in that past support has lacked when dealing through resellers, I prefer to keep in touch with the owners/staff without worrying about going through a 3rd party.
Thanks again

Do you require filtering out of DDos often?

Hi mfjp,
Not often at all actually.
I would be very lucky to get packets once a month, when I do, its often small hits and they go away.
Foonet doesn't filter a great deal, they nullroute almost instantly during a attack, then the null is auto removed x seconds later. (the new $949 servers at foonet.net dont null and filter proper apparently, $949/mo? lol)

Are you able to offer me something? I haven't received as many offers as I would've liked, but some are good and Im seriously considering 1.
Thanks
