Hope you people can have some explaination, how he can do this, as I am a total newbie in this field. One more thing I must mention ---- There Response is very fast, just in 10 minutes I had the reply from them, Offering me $800/yr, Quote. Through pdesk

This offer is not just for me, they are offering this to any one who want it, at $75/mo + $35/Setup, its only that when I asked about yearly payment they told me $800/yr, and yes any one can have this for the same rate from them.

Plus just check them they are a Hosting Assured company assured by http://www.findmyhosting.com/.

This 400 Gb space was the thing that makes me suspect them, maybe they are using many Harddisk in one server.

Any opinion.

LMAO look at the offer, like below the 1000gbs transfer "No setup fees". Yet at the top it says $35. They are probably just overselling by alot.

Vinayak

Well these guys are resellers themselvs, they are selling http://www.web-xperts.com, this is what I found out after a bit of investigation. And the web-xperts.com themselves are not a reputed company.

I think they are highly confused between megabytes and gigabytes. I don't think there are any 400GB hdd's, are there?

Their Hosting Assured page shows they are in mediation anyway.

there are 400gb hard drives.

its people like that guy who give overselling the bad image it has. overselling is a very reasonable practice providing its done with some common sense. (i.e you have the ability to house the extra usage if needed)

Vinayak

The problem is not 400 Gb hdd, because multiple Harddrives can be used to achieve that kind of offer, but the problem is the kind of offer they are giving, how can they offer that fo rsuch a low price, what they are offering is something more than a dedicated server priced less than an average reseller account.

crazy isnt the word i would use. Lack of profesionalism and perhaps dilusional. They are major oversellers like %90 of the other $2.95 webhosts..... disguisting.

Vinayak

they changed there plan it seems.

Now 15 Gb Space
15 Gb Traffic
for the same rate, it seems they came to there senses.

They oversell

Well based on whois information their servers are at rackshack and I don't think RS even offers hard drives of the size to achieve 400 Gigs of disk space. As far as 1Terrabyte bandwidth back in a day RS used to offer unmetered Cogent connected Celeron servers I think on a 10mb connection for something like $329. So if they have one of those they could probably come close to the bandwidth promise but that still leaves the HD issue.

If it seems to good to be true...

Some people will never get this... it's never as good as it looks. You may be working with a 13 year old who's at school when the server crashes, or a scam artist who only wants to take your money and run. Or you just may bet really bad ping times and always have a down server. Either way, if it looks too good to be true, it is! There are absolutes in our industry, you can't expect to get a deal like that and keep it for long, eventually someone will go out of business or just quit because there's not profit in it.

"98.9% Uptime (Free Month If Lower Then 98.9% Up Time)"

At 98.9% uptime they allow you to have 475.2 minutes of downtime or almost 8 hours a month (that's way too much for comfort).

I uploaded 500KB of data to my crazy host guy account (2mb mini account)

The disk usage that they had for me jumped from 0MB to 1.5 MB.

They said that this was due to my stats folder and offered to delete stats logging.

This made no difference. I asked them for a breakdown of my disk usage and they happily provided me with one.

According to the breakdown, a 50 bytes file is 5KB when uploaded.:bs:

This was the same for every file that I uploaded, which doesn't make much sense to me.

I asked them about this and they did not respond.

I have no other files (datebases etc) that could account for a whopping 1 meg jump.

I think that they are trying to trick mini account holders into upgrading their accounts (and therefore paying them more) by making the new user think that they have used more space than they actually have.

Perhaps this is how they can afford to offer such crazy prices!

It is ashame because other than this, their service is top notch.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

They're seriously overselling as that is simply not possible. Also, do a search on web-xperts, they are eBay scammers and have a very bad name.
