Domain Backorder?

Well there's a particular domain that I would like to get that has expired on the 8th of this month (1-8-04). If I use GoDaddy's backorder service it will wait till the domain actually drops right? On their "info" page, it says that it will attempt to register it when it expires. Maybe just a conflict of terms.

One last question, what's the standard amount of days a register waits to drop a domain? In this case DomainIt.com (couldn't find their policy on this anywhere on their website).

Any help is greatly appreciated.
