Andrew, quite the step up eh? You made a pretty big step too! From a compact 4 cylinder car to a Ferrari!
Shaun, what brand and type of external hdd do you have? Like does it connect via firewire or USB or USB2? Years ago I had one but it wasn't reliable and I kept getting errors when trying to access it and/or write to it. It was just good enough to copy everything from a laptop to my new desktop. If you're getting a new computer and need to copy everything over, it works great! Maybe this one was just buggy, and now they are more reliable?

It sure was - I don't do large updates that often. Before the 433 I had a Pentium Pro 200.
It's great in the first 6 months of a new computer - you aren't really limited by anything. I'm loving having illustrator, photoshop, ssh/vnc client, winamp, outlook express etc open, running as if nothing's open at all.
Then everything gets old and messy.. :bs:

I just upgraded to the Chaintech Ti4600 GeForce4 video card and it was well worth it. Saved a bundle too since newer cards (although not necessarily better) are now on the market.
