Top Hosts

Hey all! First of all, what a great topic. Always see requests for this on other boards so the fact that it has its own category is great. Anyhoo, getting ready to launch a campaign on Tophosts. Anyone have luck with them. Any comments would be appreciated :) Thanks in advance!

I have never advertised with them, but I have friends who have.
They are the biggest and the most expensive. They have the most money out of all the hosting directories as well. I've have yet to hear of someone who as advertised with tophosts and have been happy with the results. I'd strongly advise AGAINST spending a majority of your advertising budget on tophosts (or any 1 source for that matter) and spread the money out seeing what gives you the best results. Look at other hosting directories price wise, and see if there's any reason that tophost's visitors would be more likely to click on your ad there, rather than at the other directory.

I remember someone from another forum saying all the traffic they received from Tophosts was *useless*.

Try Hostsearch.com instead :D

We dished out $400 for a budget showcase with hostsearch. We got a good bit of traffic but only 4 signups. If you don't have the lowest price in the budget section, I hear you won't get the signups :(

I haven't used tophosts, but occasionally use webhostdir and have seen some results. Although maybe not as good as expected, it was a reasonable advertising campaign. About ready to do another run with them once the new site design is done being tweaked and finalize the spring special
