View Full Version : How much coffee in a day?

I'm assuming many of you are also avid coffee drinkers, both being in the office environment and/or those late nights trying to stay awake. So how much do you drink?

Myself, it varies quite a bit, but on average I'd say about 2 pots. First thing in the morning, strong and black, one pot. Then throughout the day it is a few cups here and there, and sometimes if I need to stay up I'll brew another pot.

But I find if I start drinking coffee at 8pm or so, regardless of how much I will be awake until 3am. So I try not to drink coffee at night unless I know for a fact I need to be up that late.

Black is the only way for coffee too, unless I'm on the road I like to get Dunkin Donuts coffee with a touch of cream. They have the best coffee and cream around, its great :D

I am not a coffee drinker -- but I drink a boatload of Diet Vanilla Coke :D.

Weird.. just the opposite. I hate soda. (ok, don't really hate it) But I only drink it on rare occasions, or if something else is mixed in :D

I drink alot of Vanilla/Cherry Coke. But I supposidly have hypoglycemia (SP?), so I'll have to back off. Don't drink coffee much at all, but when I do I like it black.

I think it all depends on your definition of a day?

1 day = 24 hours, or is it the # of hours between a period of good sleep (ie, 36 hour days, etc)

:D :D

2-3 pots

I add a spoon of sugar or two to my coffee but I can't stand any milk or cream. I don't think they mix well. But I know in some Asian countries, they actually blend coffee, tea and milk into one drink. :eek2:

I don't drink coffee. I've had 1 cup in the past year.

I just drink either water or juice; I gave up soft drink as I was putting on too much weight (the last time I had soft drink was on the 15th of this month).

I don't drink coffee that often anymore....I'm a pop/soda person.....Mtn Dew all the way :) At night though I'll drink coffee.....the amount of caffeine doesn't seem to effect me on if I can sleep or not. When drinking coffee.....has to have lots of flavored creamer (usually French Vanilla or Cinnamon Vanilla) and lots of sugar :)

I also have the cappuccino maker......but only used it once =/ the frother doesn't work....and I never had it replaced. I don't like espresso....but it was great for making this other drink....its frothed milk and chocolate mint syrup....very nummy. I used to make a lot of those when I worked at a coffee shop :)

Coffee in the morning around 1 pot. Then Pepsi Twist around 2-4 liters. I'm so used to caffeine I don't get jitters anymore, in fact I sleep better after a mug of cocoa mixed with coffee.

And I thought I was bad with an extra strong double cappuccino and about 1 liter of Mt. Dew every day.

I can drink gallons of ice tea with no problem, but 1 little cup of coffee and I am buzzed all day. So I don't drink coffee. Soft drinks don't bother me either.

I have cut back. After my little one born, my caffeine intake was much higher.

Chicken since you have the McNugget, you can understand about a little one.

Hmm..I need a nickname for me three year old. Maybe, Lil' Rox.

Yep, I understand. In addition to the Nugget, I deal with 20 other kids all day so coffee isn't optional. As for nick names... Box o' Rox? ;)

I've limited myself to one pot of coffee a day. It's usually gone by noon. :(

I don't drink coffee but my source of caffeine is tea and diet cokes. I try to limit to about 2-3 per day.
