View Full Version : PureFTP What would cause this?
First I have tried both pure and pro with the same results.
I have one user that when uploading files over 20,000 kb it stalls on him everytime. I myself can upload via ftp without any problems. He is using a dsl. Tried him on 2 different servers with same result. He has no firefall.
Any Ideas Anyone?

Tell him to try to upload from another persons computer. I remembered my mom's computer was on DSL but sometimes when she would upload or download over a certain size file, the internet would crap out on her and eventually stall out after being at a < 1k upstream.
Chances are its not the server, its his connection/computer.
What FTP client is your friend using?
If the server accepts large uploads, and this is verified, then maybe the dsl client is the culprit.
Oh, and have him try passive mode and non-passive to see if that is somehow related.

We have had this happen with users on Linksys routers. The MTU is set very low on them from the factory and needs to be raised to 1500. Also, on Netgear routers it helps to enabled UPNP in the settings. This will allow the persistent FTP port to remain open.
