Hello,
Well I've worked with most of the majors merchants out there. Echo-inc, *********, Hostcharge, PayPal, 2checkout, etc. But I had a question. I'll explain, I have a piece of software that I'm working on. About 95% of the tranctions will be about $6 monthly. Who would you recommend comparing fees and such. Thanks

I don't have a definitative answer for your question, but I'll give you my specific choice of the ones you listed: 2checkout & Paypal.

Your question leads me to ask: When you set your pricing, are you not allowing for the processing fees into your prices?

Going on an average of 3% + flat fee's you would be looking at less than buck, but if you've not calculated this into the overall pricing, then your effectively reducing your profit margins.

No the monthly fee of $5.95 is including the cc fees. But I want to figure profit.

Well depending on your sales amounts here's the order I'd suggest:
Echo, 2CheckOut, Paysystems. Don't even touch HostCharge, that company is in serious debt, not to mention the fact that it's pretty much dead. Echo would be best if the $20.00/month is within the budget, since transaction fee's are about half of 2CheckOut's. Not to mention, real merchant accounts are always better (shows your company name on the billing statement). If you are planning on a LOT of $6.00/month transactions just setup Echo, if you're starting out small, go with 2CheckOut or Paysystems.

Hopefully around 1000 or so a month, so ya I'll just go with Echo. Time to go get a ssl cert setup.
