Yep. Before you know it, they will be offering the "Buy 1 , Get 1 Free" deal!
Some of those laptops are for sale for $900 before rebates, stil a great deal!
Not a bad deal on that Vaio.

Looks good, but do you trust rebates? ;)

BestBuy is good at getting their's out, though my wife said that Toshiba still hasn't sent the $100 one for the laptop we bought (and probably never will). DELL never sent the $100 rebate for my desktop either.
I don't buy anything with rebates that I wouldn't pay the price without the rebate just in case as it's too much of a pain in the donkey to try to follow up with them if they fail to send it. I have copies of everything, but the effort involved is close to a waste of time, and it will just annoy me.

I guess I'm just lucky... never had a problem getting any rebates I was eligible for... got a $200 rebate from Dell and plenty of large and small rebates for products from Best Buy - yes, the $7 dollar ones on the blank CDR media also!

I usually don't have trouble with rebates either. I got the $200 one from Dell weeks before I was actually expecting it.

I'm still waiting on a $80 rebate from Seagate. I try to avoid offers with mail-in rebates.

It wasn't the fastest thing out there in Sept when I bought it, but I've added another hdd and a DVD burner form the old computer and it's a nice machine now. If I ever hear of anything I'll post it.
I missed a great deal on a Toshiba laptop recently  I thought my $600 and $650 laptops were pretty good, but I guess there were some $500 and $550 ones, which is super cheap.

 I'm a fan of AMD chips but even I know this is an excellent deal. I wish I would have known, I would have bought a couple. Definitely keep watching for these specials. Was this just something on their site or a promotion you received in the mail?

I recently received $1,500 ($300 x 5 for buying 5 Dell Inpsiron 600m centrino laptops) in rebate checks from Dell. Turn around time was an impressive 4 weeks.
I like their rebate status (http://dell.rebatestatus.com), very helpful!
One of the best laptop deals @ Best Buy was right after Black Friday (November 28) where they were offering the Compaq X1050 for $799 (http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.cfm?catid=40&threadid=1206400&FTVAR_MSGDBTABLE=), this is an awesome loaded laptop.
Of course all my local BB's were out of stock but they had 5 in Anchorage, Alaska but they wouldn't sell them to me over the phone/fax :(
Woohoo this is my very first post on HHO :)

I thought it was just a smoking hot deal at the time, but it turns out it was :o: a pricing mistake...
:baghead:
-but I'll take it!

I love pricing mistakes. The only problem is they only usually happen once. I know, that's not good for business but...
Bad Mark, bad... :banghead:
