Well instead of what does your desktop look like. What does your desk look like?
Here's mine:
Rob's Desk (http://69.10.141.234/robs_desk.jpg)
That's my room, a bit dirty. I'm mostly out in my Dad and I's shop though, keeps me out of the house.

At the moment my desk is strewn with a bottle of water, my ipaq, a couple of books, some cd's, my speakers, the tv remote and a hamlet dvd (kenneth branagh is soo *mwah*!). Oh and my desktop of course. No pic, it would dull your brain to pieces.

Nah. I've been a long fan of America Online (Since AOL 2.7) and a beta tester since AOL 3.0 (erm 6 years ago?). I have a cable connection here and connect to AOL Via TCP/IP.
When asked why do I KEEP AOL? Simple. It's only 7.95 a month for AOL, I've had it for so long that I hate to switch my personal email that all my friends and my long lost friends have, I hang out in a certain AOL Chatroom and it's easy for my family to send me pictures and stuff.
I don't have a single problem with AOL.

I don't have a problem with AOL at all. I got a problem with Ted Turner, who is stepping down, thank God.
Ted Turner is a Billionaire. He founded CNN. Despite the situation AOL Time Warner is in, do not confuse AOL Time Warner with America Online, which is overlooked my Steve Case. I do give money to AOL TW (RoadRunner for instance).
My Cable Provider is Adelphia. They are even better than before. I never really had problems with them anyways. A Constant 2.5mbps down. Gotta love highspeed!

No, it's not that I don't like Ted Turner because of how rich he is. Because of his views.
The worse thing AOL could ever have done was to merge with Time Warner.

This is where all the magic happens bay-bay. Errr... it is still a disaster due to moving, and I've not really had a chance to organize things in this room yet (as you can probably tell). This si the new office. I used to have all of this crammed into the kitchen of the apartment, heh. At least we now have space to expand and spread the junk out a bit!
Nice Wireless Router from Linksys.
What is on your wireless network?
It's so funny how the first thing someone sets up when they move into their new home is their computer. Forget the rest of the house, let's get ONLINE!

True that. When my parents built our current house, the firstthing we got setup was a network and internet connection. We had satellite like 2 months before we had a phone line (thanks to qwest).

I have a couple of laptops. The desktop is connected directly to the router at the moment.

Well (speaking from experience), the first thing one shold set up is the phone lines in the house and teh DSL connection. I went a bit without phone lines in each room, and got that going finally (by crawling under the house, yikes!), and DSL was slow to get installed. :(
Chicken, Where'd the Raq go!?

Actually, I'm a drummer and have that there so that when people come over, they can play. I used to be able to play a couple things badly, and a few songs I wrote (simple guitar) badly, but now I don't even think that badly would describe it. Did I mention I play drums?

So true!
As for my desktop, the desk itself is pretty clean. The floor...well let's just say I have no floor. It's covered with clothes / magazines / linux books / etc.
This is from a web cam point of view, my camera rang out of batteries and I am too lazy to recharge them.
Darn I took a screenshot of my desktop just for this thread, but you are all showing REAL desks. No way will I take a pic of mine :baghead:  :yuck:

Probably not. The roof line is like that in some houses. He might live in a Cape (as it is called), which often has roof/wall lines like that.
Chicken also sells homes..
I'm posting the Allan and myself... :)

wow, you guys can tolerate eachother in the same room? ;)
We had to make sure to seperate our desks, as I don't think we'd make it sharing a room. lol
We're rarely in there at the same time.... :) I'm mostly in there during the day with baby and Allan's mostly in there at night while I'm reading. I can't be in there at the same time as him b/c then my dirty dishes wouldn't have anywhere to reside... (which is usually on his desk) :D

Lot's of kids toys :D. That your guys living room?
hahah not the living room - we have a living room, but we spend so much time in there it might as well be the living room. :D
p.s. in our old house though, we had the whole family room set up as the office - we downgraded since then hehe. :)

Thanks I really enjoy the flat screen! Nope I'm not in an attic chicken hit the nail on the head my house is what they call 1-1/2 story house so the upstairs isn't the same size as the downstairs creating the bent in half effect that you see from the picture. Common for older houses up here.

Not exactly a split level because we have a basement, main floor, then the 1/2 story. Split levels usually have two choices when you enter the home up or down. Here is a picture of my house (ignore the big tree that was knocked down by a storm my house is in the background of that tree shot):

That weird square section in the middle is the 1/2 story which is where I'm right now as I type this (spooky). Older houses have weird additions like this back when this house was first built it was a small one story home a rambler but some where along the line probably before I was even born they added on to it.
