Where to advertise web design services?

I am no marketing genius, nor have the money to hire one, and now need your input! Advertising on what genre of sites will bring in revenue for web design services? How can I achieve in bringing more visitors that are actually interested in our services? Any hints/ tips?

I've been looking into the same question myself as a designer and have been told by many to advertise locally in newspapers, etc. I plan to do this very soon (soon as I have some money to spend on it!). My other suggestion would be to try and find other companies to form partnerships with that could be beneficial for both of you. For example, with marketing firms that do print design, etc and other marketing but haven't gotten into the internet realm yet. You could be the perfect outsourcing partner - getting good number of referrals and the other company would make good money from it as well. I plan to also follow up on this very soon to see where it leads. Right now I have hooked up with a TV marketing pro who wants to get into search engine marketing,etc and I do contract work for him, and I'll get to bid on projects for his clients first if they are in need of new site development.
