View Full Version : MySQL Databases
This is interesting (to me at least :)):

Offering MySQL is obviously a good thing -- but since so many other hosting companies now offer it, is it a good idea to advertise the fact that you are slow to offer it?

Hrmmm...
I think that the people who use Netfirms are either
1- looking for free hosting and would therefore take anything doled out to them. They'd go with netfirms despite the fact that it's waaaaaaay behind other hosts.
2- people who don't know much about hosting and what is actually widely available. It's like the thousands of people who still register $35 domains at netsol.
elevation, netfirms have paid hosting too ;)

I think elevation meant that since they offer free hosting, and no doubt many use them for free hosting, it is a big whooopie (to errr... them and their customers) when they add paid features and paid plans. Somewhat similar to people who sign up with their ISP for webhosting and pay $19.95/mo. for 10MB and 1GB of transfer, and the ISP ups it to 15MB of space. Clients are psyched that they get another 5MB ;)
