Hello how is everyone tonight? My target is my locals from where I live. Then I will be moving more to the internet. My question is.. is my prices to high?

I charge

5.00

200 mb of disk space
2000 mb of bandwidth

I give 24/7/365 day support.

Should I raise the prices, or keep them the way I have them now?

thats a reasonable charge (a little on the low side), but if youre after local business, I dont think you need to go that low.

Hello Andrew how are you today?

Well I was looking around and talking to people today and they say most hosts (doesnt matter if the plan is lower) usally start at
$7.95.

Though if I raise my prices from $5.00 to $7.95 would I lose customers? I know I most likley get more quality customers. I want more quality then quanity.

My whole goal is to give the clients great support, and treat them that they are acually people and not "money".

Thanks for the help.

Raise your prices for new customers, and leave current clients at the current price. If you decide to increase any of your plan features along with a price increase, you will have some current clients upgrade to the new price in order to receive the new features.

Trex,
I believe that $5 is fine. I am a person who totally believes in low cost high quality hosting. Some people say that it is not fair to the rest of the hosting bussinesses, because we are lowering the cost of the market. I think it is good to lower the cost of the market. I remember when I needed hosting long ago... It was so high that I had to resort to Tripod. Everyone knows that they suck! :D

So, in saying that, I think your prices should reflect what you want. Do you want few customers who pay a lot or many customers who pay a little less?

Now, a lot of people believe that "you get what you pay for". We have been fighting this for a long time and have been very sucessful. If you say you want to offer GREAT services and Support, then do it! Low prices may detur some people, but word of moth will bring MANY more.

Just because you have low costs doesn't mean that you will have low quality coustomers. Yes you will have a few, but who cares? Is it going you effect you? No, as long as they pay.

One last thing, as long as your costs are being covered so that your not losing money, your doing good. Profit will come in time.

(moderators: I don't think i violated any rules, but if I did, feel free to edit this post. I just want to get my point across that price isn't everything. Its quality and word of mouth.)

Well my main goal is to give 24/7/365 days that is beyond great. I want to give them a service that will make them feel they are not just a customer, but a human being.

I figured I can raise my prices just a little bit, and it shouldnt hurt me.

I figured on prices, support that I wouldnt be making much on each client. Then the bigger packages I was losing money (after paying support).

I will keep the clients that I have now at the same price, but the new clients will have to pay the new price.

Now just to figure out the price...
