Hey everyone,

I was just wondering. What are some bigname support/help desk programs available out there today that run on Windows (are asp/asp.net based). I'm taking a course right now (Distributed object computing - with Microsoft's .NET framework) and for our project, myself and my team members together are working on developing a support tickets software.

We will probably build 2 interfaces: a web interface in ASP.NET for the customers and a Windows Console interface for the support techs (which can easily be ported to ASP.NET also if that's preferable). It will use SQL Server as the backend DB (which can also be changed).

I was curious to see if there are any other ones like this out there. Partly because I want to see what all the features are that they offer. And partly also because I wanted to see if there is a market for this (especially in the hosting industry). If it turns out to be a good enough software, we obviously wouldn't mind making some money from it :) Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I haven't ever seen a system like that but I can see the need. There are a lot of windows hosts out there that use .NET and SQL - you could possibly have a good product to market after your project...

If there is something exist especially for ASP.NET projects I believe you will be able to find that on the asp.net forums.

We ended up coding an in house desk, it is basic but it does the tasks.

It also allows us to add extra features when we wan't.
