View Full Version : Why does no one replace the PerlDesk Logo?
Im not sure if this is the right forum, but this one has been bugging me for a while now. So many of the hosts out there use PerlDesk, and I often notice that they dont change the PerlDesk logo to one of their own. Why not? It only involves uploading your own logo, is it just being lazy?
Juuust wondering :)

I have no idea. I customised the templates when I used the free version of Perldesk, and customised the whey out of things when I started using Perlbill. Maybe it's laziness.

Well, I know that in Plesk Server Admin, you could change the logo, and I never got around to it, before stopping the use of that server and cp system. One of those things at the bottom of the list...

Sheer laziness :)
What's a better name than a Perl HelpDesk? J/K.
We named ours VeroHost.com - Support Help Desk. Original right? Yeep we thought so. took a while tho!

Some don't replace the logo mainly because they "don't" know how to...i assume...;P

lol. This one always gets me. They're a webhost, have a HelpDesk where THEY give others support, but they cant upload a picture? Personally I think its just laziness, but its the small things that really make the difference.
On a serious side (haha that's funny) anyhow..
Maybe some think it violates the terms of use to modify the script since it was free? Also, it's no longer free.

I tend to agree, though I wish it was laziness. Such a shame that people with that little of website smarts are trying to host web sites.

Very sad indeed. I think that's sort of a sign to stay away from them, or is it just me?

Yep i sure am :)
Honestly though, when it comes to a choice of whether i can fix a downed server or replace a perldesk logo, i'll choose to fix the server :)

We totally customised PerlDesk to fit in with our site layout, etc.
It's not used now though; we bought ModernBill and are using that. With ModernBill we customised the login page and logo once people have logged in, but we haven't gone beyond that.

I don't think that's so? You only have to pay to remove the copyright notice at the bottom.
