New movie: The Core

I just saw a trailer for a new movie coming out soon (says March 28 here in the states). They have a web site where you too can see the trailer.

This has got to be one of the dumbest movies I'm not even going to see, even if it comes on regular broadcast t.v. Click the trailer and tell me this isn't the most idiotic movie concept you've ever heard of. Makes the creator of Terminator III seem like a genius.

Starts off... "it was a secret government program..."

Right there you know it has the potential to be the stupidest movie ever...

yadda yadda yadda (other voice-over garbage)

"...designed to use Earthquakes to attack our enemies..."

As I watched this on t.v., I thought, my goodness...

"It was a perfect, untraceable weapon... until something went wrong..."

The plot? The conception of the movie?

"The core of the Earth has stopped spinning..."

Ahhhhh-yuh.

"How could this have happened?"

They must be referring to the movie itself. What studio big-wig was pitched this pile of crap and said, "Ohhh yeah baby! We got a winner on our hands here! Sign this before someone else snaps it up!"

"We killed the planet."
"So how do we fix it?"
"We can't."
"What if we could?"

Eeeeeeeggggt. DUMB DUMB DUMB! Arrrrrghh! Anyway, I'd go on and tell you how they plan to save the planet, but you gotta watch the trailer to find out for yourself.

shurg dont know its kinda on the line with armagenden (SP?) and thats other one.
ehh i migh check i out when it comes to DVD but not untill then im not blowing 7.50 on that one.
all tho it could be good if you think of it as just a pure story with a lot of sci-fi mixed in.

I thought Armagedon had a plot though IMHO. This movie just looks stupid. One of those B rated movies that they show to soldiers over seas.lol

Amazing thing about that trailer: The entire movie is played out. Not much motivation to actually see it since they summed it up nicely in a 3 minute episode.

Yep, they didn't leave much to the imagination. Then again, with a movie like that, who needs it anyway? Sort of like giving away the ending to any romantic comedy involving either: Tom Hanks/Billy Crystal or Meg Ryan, or any movie that the Friends stars have been in. Ohhh, or Julia Roberts or that Hugh Grant guy. I've always been utterly surprised at the endings of those movies! WOW! Everything works out! But yeah, I did save $8-$9 and an hour+ of my time by just watching the 3 minute trailer of The Core. Maybe I should just search out more trailers?

As much as the movie does suck, I bet it will sound really good on my surround sound system -- so I will probably rent it for the gee-whiz effect :D.

Yes, I have noticed that a bit of volume and a surround sound system makes any crappy movie much better. I went over to a friend's house and we watched some rather lame street shooting movie (I can't even recall what), but the subwoofer in back of the couch made the gunshots quite impressive. If it was shown on a normal t.v., I probably would have been asleep within 10 minutes.
