Average Clients.

I know this is a hard question to answer as it all depends on diffrent aspects but i was wondering how many clients can one expect in say 6 months to 12 months of running a hosting company.

Also if you dont mind would you answer two questions:

1: How Long Have You Been Running.

2: On Average How Many Clients Do You Have.

We've been doing this since Jan. of 2003 .. so about 11 months and in the last 2 months we have started to increase our client base by almost half.

We have 150+ clients.

I don't think one can accurately predict how many clients they will have in a year. It depends on the advertising, the service, the clients, so many variables.

In my opinion, provide the best support and service you can to your current clients, and the rest will take care of itself. Be there for your clients first and foremost, the rest will come.

depends on a lot of things, like advertising.

But I can say, from my own personal experience, is after the first year, and only paying a few hosting directories a few hundred bucks total.. we had about 75-100 customers. That was with no other advertising except the initial one-time listing in a paid directory... so, take that as what you want.

With active advertising and quality service to get word-of-mouth customers to sign up, you could easily see a few hundred in your first year. Just depends on how much you want to spend and how fast you want to grow.

It also depends on your market. 100 $9 month shared clients in your first year of 25 $40 month clients... whats worth more to you ?

Its all about the money and product. Have a good product, something others dont have, and then promote the hell out of it. You'll have no problem finding 100 clients a week.

Been running for close on 2 years [2 yrs on Dec 4] now and have 850+ clients. We specialise in the Multiple domain and Reseller accounts, so we don't offer single domain hosting. Our cheapest plan is 35/mth. It's been a slow and steady path to this point. We've grown mainly through word of mouth and participation in forums such as WHT etc. :)
