View Full Version : Very Weird Issue...

I have a client that hosted a domain as a "addon" domain off her main domain. Well after some issues and limitations of the addon domain, I decided to give that addon domain a seperate account and basically removed it from the addon and give it it's own space and package.

For the past 2 weeks she can't access it at certain times of the day. She has Verizon DSL @ Work and OOL at home and on both ISPS she can't access it. It'll last for about 10 minutes, but my site and all her friends sites (that are hosted with me) is accessable.

I originally thought it was ISP not updating the DNS, but she has this issue on both Verizon and OOL.

Any ideas how to remedy this?

Thanks.

Aside from those two ISPs, when she has trouble, can everyone else access it (just not her or ???)

good question... are you or her "friends" able to access it during the periods shes claiming she cannot?

I have to ask her.. she never answered me ..I have to wait for her reply...

If it was only 1 of her ISPS, I could say it was her ISP. but hmm weird ehh?

I'll have to get back to you.. thanks :D

Only she can't see it..other folks can access it fine.

Obviously this may seem like a simple response but has she tried deleting Temporary Internet Files and History? I know she probably has but if this is only happening for her then it'd have to be something on her system. When this does fail, do you know about it pretty quick where you can then test it too?

Perhaps the fact that she's the only one experiencing the problem indicates the problem is on her local end.

Perhaps to verify you can ask her to request her friends (and you) to check the site out whenever she encounters the problem, but it seems apparent from teh symptoms that since no one else is experiencing the inaccessibility, then it could only either be that (1) The problem was indeed there and no one was just able to verify it with her; or (2) It's her machines at work (and at home).. though that's weird, it shouldn't be discounted (virus on both ends, etc.) .. just a guess.

Well... I did some investigating

and I noticed that the folder that her addon domain was pointing to before existed. So I deleted it.

It could be the DNS still updating for her ISP (3 weeks and counting).
