I was thinking about getting this for Bruce, since he loves to play with my keyboard, more than just about anything else (my glasses easily win first place as his favorite toy :)):

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005LJEM/

But I am not sure, does anyone here have experience with infant software, and do you have any preferences?

You can buy it and it might amuse him for a couple of minutes, then he will go back to your keyboard and glasses :D

Like Jan said he'll probably lose interest in it after about the first 5 minutes.

teletubbies is good for 30 minutes on TV so you get the keyboard to yourself

He has his baby einstein DVDs for that, he loves them. Of course, he also loves spongebob squarepants :splat:

The thing about losing interest in the keyboard is that he regains it so fast...so if he is at least learning -- and not screwing up my book -- when he is typing I think I'll be happier. I went ahead and ordered it, I figured for $6.99 you can't really go wrong :).

I am still trying to get that Baby Einstein DVD! I have the VHS version of Baby Motzart, which Nugget loves.

Re: that software...

Features:

Share the learning experience with your child
Discover colors, shapes, animals, letters, and numbers
Original songs
Help and encouragement from Reader Rabbit
An enchanted land of fun and learning
I'm not certain that the computer is the best method for these things, though I'm not sure how old Bruce is. I have a load of software for 3rd graders :D

I think that may be a bit above Bruce's capabilities :D He's only 8 months old :p:

We have Baby Mozart and the Language *****ry -- he likes the Language *****ry best :). We also have some Baby Einstein books that he loves to "read" (in as much as you can read by eating the book :D).

He is 8 months. You are probably right, but I don't want this to be his primary method of learning -- I just want him to have pretty colors light up when he pushes the buttons on the keyboard :).

We installed a gate to keep Nugget from "pusihing the buttons on the keyboard". Now he rattles it like he's going to break through.

A gate around the keyboard, that's pretty cool ;).

Errrr... well the gate is installed in the house, not around the keyboard, per se. It cuts off the dining room, my office (computer room), and most importantly, the kitchen (see past thread about him trying to kill us).

Well, that's no fun, a keyboard gate would be much cooler :).

That looks quite nice and would probably keep baby occupied for quite awhile :) (The price is only $10 or so,not bad)
