View Full Version : Design for beginners
Does anybody know of, or provide for their customers, software which allows them to create a homepage really easily? Ideally it would have a web interface, produce nice results with the minimum of effort, be easy to understand and free (GPL or the like)?
I can only seem to find CMS's which are way over what some of my users need.
Thanks :)

Isn't there something out there called "SiteBuilder"?
It depends upon what site you are willing to make. You can check out the online site builder such as www.site2you.com (http://www.site2you.com) but if you want really good result it is better to leave this work to professionals
Thank you

Yes, the best way to create a site is to do it yourself or ask a professionals :) Remember smth like that: if you want to do it good - do it yourself! :)

That's a good point, and let me add a qualifier to that. I'd say if you want it really good, do by yourself the parts that you know best (if you aren't a designer that means site contents, etc.). *But* go find and get the experts for the other areas.
An architect designs buildings, but it's the construction companies that actually build them, the engineers that fine-tune structural integrity, and so on.
So sitebuilders (a Google search should yield many results) and site2you.com should definitely be on your list. Otherwise, you can learn some of it yourself or better yet (esp if you're a busy businessperson), bite the ****** and source it out. It'll come out cheaper in the long term actually when you consider how much your time is worth (and we all don't have enough). :)
