I would be interested in seeing posts by those using merchant accounts for their hosting business. Most interested in how your provider has responded to chargebacks, how friendly they seem to hosts. Please advise how long you have been with them.
I bring this topic up because I know many hosts have experienced problems with merchant accounts.

Im not a host. But I thought I'd add. I used ********* for a while on one of my sites. Personally thought that their system sucked majorly. Paid way to slow, didn't handle refunds very well. Just a real pain to deal with.

Hello,
I've revently switched from 2Checkout, to Paysystems.
I dont know how they'll be with chargebacks, but the support team is unbelievable. Anytime i have a question, just call them up, and its resolved within minutes.
Pay Systems all the way!

We use Authnet with FraudScreen and Transact-Secure so we dont pay any fees for chargebacks because they are covered in our monthly subscription fees.

Hello,
How much per month and the urls please?
I'm very interested in this
Hi,
We're using a combination of PaySystems and Authorize.net/ModernBill. Our processor, TotalPay, does not allow yearly signups so we are in the hunt for a better solution. We've begun the signup process with ModernAuthorize (http://www.modernauthorize.com) and it looks good so far.

You will have to contact to get pricing because it depends on your volume as well as individual ticket price.
We find it to be quite effective for the price because it gives us 3 levels of fraud checking before it even processes the transaction. Then if it turns out to be a case of fraud and it slipped through the system, we dont have to cover any of the costs.

We use verisign/Merchante-solutions. Not the cheapest bunch but they are really great in terms of reporting and forwarding money to you. Money collected by them are in our bank account 2 days after the sale. Chargebacks wise they are very friendly too. More often then not they'll let us issue the credit for the chargeback (when it happens on very rare occasions :)) vs actually docking our bank account and charging the fee. More importantly their reporting is very easy to follow and tie in into your bank statement which makes accounting a labor intensive but very straightforward process.
P.S. to chicken. Great forum!!! :) Does it mean you are leaving WHT?

This is great. Does anyone else use a service that allows this?
P.S. I don't know yet, heh.

Yes, this would be great to know. If your processor saves you from just one chargeback fee, they've earned their keep!
Anyone had any experience with PayQuake (http://www.payquake.com) ? I haven't really heard any bad reviews about them but just thought I would post since this thread seems appropriate. :)
I use InternetSecure. They charge more than most are willing to pay. But I find it to be money very well spent.
The odd time that a transaction is challenged by the cardholder, InternetSecure will send me a clear copy request. Here is a sample of what I would receive:
Your customer, the cardholder, is questioning this transaction. Please contact this person, remind them of the sale, and request that they call their bank and have them remove the clearcopy request. Let them know that if they do not remove this WITHIN seven days, it becomes a chargeback, which will cost you as the merchant $25.00 in a chargeback fee. If you have any form of signature authorizing the sale or signed delivery slips, please forward the document to me WITH your merchant number and the sales order number it is referring too. The fax number here is 905-xxx-xxxx. I will present it to the bank on your behalf, as proof of purchase.
Keep in mind, though, that IS can only send me this clear copy request if the bank bothers to send it to them to begin with. At their discretion, the bank may elect to go straight in and issue a chargeback - no room for rebuttal or action on behalf of the merchant. But if they send a clear copy request, as a merchant you have time to either clear up the confusion with the cardholder, or issue a manual refund thereby avoiding a chargeback charge, not to mention avoiding having a chargeback show up on your record.
