No chat for now, maybe someday, that's up to Chicken.

When HHO (chat v2 I think), was linked at the top of WHT, it didn't do all that well and I honestly think chat is only feasible for large sites with huge user bases. People have tried putting up the same script as HHO v1 and IRC versions, but in the end, it is nobody typing or not enough users to be of interest. Chat is so high maintenance that users find it hard to do it, and Chickens find it hard to run.

Edit: Forgot to say WELCOME whooops! :fork:

when you had that first version, it was popular, phpchat or whatever, that 2nd one that you paid a good deal of money just sucked...didnt have much in terms of customizations

Yeah, everyone liked the first one that was on its way to kill the server with 20 some odd users and when I got something to handle the load (up to 500 users), everyone hated it. Basically, I'm out of the chat business for the time being.

And people tell me I need help?

Continuing OT: I think a forum is a bit better than a chat room, especially now. You would have to have a mod in a chat room basicly at all times, it would be much more chaotic, less organized. I could go on and on but you see my point..

mod'ing the chatroom wasn't all that bad except for it didn't allow for me to have an actual life. But met some great ppl and had some laughs

I quite like the chat Rackshack uses ... I believe it's jIRC? Let's you chat via the java applet, or connect using a regular IRC client (BitchX, mIRC, etc.)

I like it alot too. Though I know quite a few people don't run java.

Hey,

I feel bad, I had told Chicken I would donate a JPilot license (it integrates really well with vBulletin too), but I found out I cant. I only paid $40 for mine, and now they're charging $50. I bought mine a good three years ago too. Too bad. I really think this would be a great system though, and at $50 with vBulletin integration (vBulletin.org) its pretty neat. Id donate some money to the HostHideout fund.

Matt

License? What the hell is that? Just take a little stroll down to cracks.am.
