I had this idea long before WHT did it, I actaully thought of it when I saw a forum that was only about sponsorship. Why not add a place on here at HHO for sponsorship for hosting and design... I think it may be a nice touch...

though i understand if you people are against it since WHT already has it...

This was spoken about previously and though the forum needs some kind of money in to help running costs i dont *think* Chicken will be allowing full forum sponsorships however i dont recall him ever saying a definite no.

But why dont you define to me your idea of sponsorship as some peoples ideas differ. To you you may think a simple sticky saying that forum sponsored by some company but to me i see images on each forum advertising the company at every possible place.

like a place...
so instead of taking up space asking for for sponsorship in a webhosting request... where companies go to try and sell there space and in that forum you can place all kinds of sponsorship request, and then have a place for compaines to come and offer sponsorship..

so lets say.. i want a website... 1gb space - 50 gb bandwidth - Cpanel ect. and i wanted a company to sponsor me.. instead of going to Shared Requests and posting a thread, you would go to the sponsorship area and post it. this way you save people's time...

That is what I had intended the 'barter' forum to include. It's not clear, and people probably don't know it's even down there.

I think to keep the forums neutral, it would be best to keep any and all advertising off the site (paid that is).

Well, normally I'd agree with that, but I have banned members who were advertisers at WHT (who paid quite a bit for that banner up there), and willfully ignored thread closure requests by employees of RackShack when they owned the forum. I'm a, "call it as I see it" person, and advertising doesn't change that.

Advertisers were treated like any other member (sometimes to their surprise), and although some people didn't like that very much, I think they still respected that stance.
