Well, I'd like to create a site for my kiddies (elementary school level). As I look through all of the domains I have, there wasn't one that jumped off the page. So I'm wondering if anyone has a short, easy to remember .com domain (I'd like .com just so they aren't confused).

I don't know exactly what I'm looking for, but it should appeal to kids, be very easy to spell (think 'easy to spell' as in 2nd grade level), etc.

Also, if you have a three-LETTER .com domain, I'd be interested in seeing it as maybe that will work as well (though I realize it will cost me more, so...)

Keep in mind this is for a site that I'm building for low-income children, and I'm a low-income employee, thus if you're looking for $500 for the domain, I'll have to pass and just use one that I already have. Top choice so far is spacechicken.net (I own the .com but don't really want to use it for this purpose, plus nameservers are tied to the .com domain as well).

Short, remember? :D First one is too long and they can't type very well yet. Although it'd be funny to watch, forcing them to type in every letter on the keyboard might (honestly) take them about 15 minutes (and I'm not kidding). I've watched one kid hunt for a 'j' for a good minute and a half.

I should have mentioned that the grade level I teach is 3rd, but I'd like the words to be 2nd grade level. This is because many of the parents are about that level, plus I have many kids who are actually at 2nd grade spelling level.

Also, teaching is one of those jobs where if they need you to teach another grade, that's what you do. So I'd prefer that it not have any mention or reference to any grade level.

Oh' my... That had me laughing hysterically. :D Still does actually. Can you imagine these kids telling their parents about the cool new website their teacher put together. "So, Johnny, what's the name of the site? ..."

LOL, yes... ratemybooger... that's one the principal would love I'd bet ;)

Maybe I should mention that the one group of people that do not call me 'Chicken' are the teachers and students. When I first started working there, I came and surprised the kids at Halloween in the costume. That was years ago though, and those kids have moved on. I normally don't work in October (was just subbing), so the Chicken theme doesn't really work with them.

Chicken, how about askidz.com? Your initials and the word kids with a 'z'. Not sure if that would confuse them on the proper spelling, though. That one is available, by the way! :)

Lmfao! I want a chicken suit!

Chick, forget my offer to buy some domains, i'll have your suit.

Wouldnt that be a change of style appearing in the office in a more "different" type of suit.

Well at least i'll stand out and be easily distinguishable!

Yes, you can imagine the kids' reaction when I wore it that one time to school. Apparently they've never seen a 6+ foot, yellow, fuzzy chicken. I recommend it for anyone, especially in cold climates.

Heh, yeah. I'd probably stay away from the incorrect spellings of words. They don't need help spelling words incorrectly, that I can assure you.

I have dopefree.com and had no thought of letting a bunch of second graders have it, but...
