I used to look at programs for £25 and go "****, im not paying for that". But it goes with the business i guess as i just purchased a £1,000+ Sage financing solution.

If you wuold have asked me last month if i would pay that much i'd say no - but when you realise it cuts costs in your business over a period of time then it becomes increasingly more attractive.

I understand how a company will feel more likly to dish out the money.. but a person who just into design.. just blows my mind. Even the unpro verision is $900... heck why mise well go for the pro.. ya know?

Well in all honesty the whole wide range of these products right now might just be worth it, remember some 3d software can set u back as much as $3000, Maya for instance...

Try video software.

Discreet products are the top in the industry. They are also the most expensive.

Discreet "Flint" $80,000
Discreet "Flame" $90,000 - $110,000
Discreet "Inferno" $60,000

These all run on HUGE beefy MIPS machines with huge amounts of ram, huge SAN storage arrays and multi processor systems.

A company called Quantel from the UK.

There work stations start at $1.2M US and go up from there.

So, when you think about it $1k for a full suite of software isnt that bad.

Yeah imagine what the matrix had to spend on computer software or starwars or any high tech movie

Most of the software ILM, Dreamworks SKG ect already had. What they will do is have a progaming dept write custom shaders, maps ect or extend the functionality of the core app.

I just looked it up and it says that ColdFusion is included, and it seems the MX2004 professional is just MX2004 with flash professional.

It is a very good product, and worth every cent of the $999 it costs.

Macromedia excelled themselves with this release, and they earned their money ten fold.

Note it actually costs $974 fully shipped, securely, if you where notified of it's release 4 month's ago, and pre-ordered

Ok so it includes ColdFusion, but not many hosts support it. It's so expensive.
