Hello,
I got a question about Intel ISP brand servers. I bought 5 IntelISP 1100's off of ebay, 1u and the motherboard for like $225 each (a great deal). I'm trying to find the P4 version of the 1100 and I've looked all over intel's site and I cannot find anything of this sort. Anyone know if they make the ISP line anymore?

I think Intel killed the ISP line a couple of years back, and I am not sure if you will be able to get a P4 version of the board.

If u bought those machines that all have 225 as the buy value, be careful, a buddy bought one and said his got problems with not being able to put in anything bigger then Celeron 400 Mhz

He even up'd the bios to P15

We run about 10 ISP1100's and they work great, we have in the past picked up some bad servers of Ebay

If you need to let a working machine go, let me know, I will buy a few off you

Hello,
I just picked up the motherboard and case for $225. They are brand new packaged and cealed, otherwise I wouldn't have dared touch them. Bad part as you said is they only have a 100mhz bus speed so you can only run a 800mhz p3.

I just set up another one tonight. Went ok except grub was being a pain in the butt. The one thing I wish they had was hot swappable bays, right now they just have pull outs which are still pretty "neat". I looked into Intel's newer line (SR I believe) and they are pretty expensive so I'm just gunna switck to me $400 1u amd boxes.

go to bios, it has "BIOS over LAN" if it works, then ucan use the 2nd lan to connect to and see everything at bios level

from what i understand, just go into bios and there is a latter option to select LAN REDIRECT

Tried it, still trying to figure it out. Right now I'm just running a terminal server to it.

Went out and checked. All I did was enable "LAN Console Redirection", then selected the devide "lan 2 I believe". Rebooted the server and it said like
"Mac Address: 02.....
Contacting DHCP Server /"

I'm running ICS to share out my satellite connection, so there's no problem there. Although it took heck of a long time to get up with the DCHP server (atleast 60 seconds shouldn't have taken that long). Let me go check the bios version real quick. If you want hit me up on AIM: ntwrkgur
In this particular machine ( I now have like 6 of these 1100's) I believe I flashed the bios.
