Maxmind?

Hello i was wonder what do you guys think of Maxmind telephone fraud program? I am getting tired of receiving orders and the next week i get a unauthorized dispute. Specially with my merchant account there is a $30 fee every time i get a dispute.

Hi Jab, Firstly If your in the USA I suggest you contact CDGCommerce, they have great systems in place in regards to processing Credit Cards. In regards to maxmind I have used the free version and that alone helps out with reducing false/fake orders.

We also use their free service -- it helps, but plenty still gets through. If you do use their phone program, we would love to see you review it.

Do not recommend MaxMind. We had some major issues with them. What I would recommend to you would be PreCharge which get all your transactions verified by humans. Also if chargeback occurs (fraud) then they are giving you back the money :) and that is awesome cause you can be protected against it in all ways.

Automated Telephone Verification isn't always a sufficent way to validate a customer. Plus, it gives customers that feeling that you don't care. Give the customer a call personally doing the verification by doing this you will gain comfort with the customer and get a feeling whether or not they are a scammer.

We use maxmind and it's def a good tool to have for stopping fraud. Usually, it will give you enough information to decide if the order is fraud or not. You don't have to do telephone verification with all order. Just do it with highly risk orders with maxmind.

I agree with you. One phone call can help you to understand if that is fraud or not.

Maxmind will reduces the number of fraud orders.but its not the complete solution. I will always recommend manual verification.

Maxmind has been a lifesaver for us on numerous occasions. I would recommend that you use this service and implement a few more fraud prevention measures.

I have used MaxMind for years, and can totally recommend this service! For the small fee you pay, you get a lot more security against fraudsters.
But you still need to take other measures, as one system alone is not going to stop all of them.
