Twice today I click to read a post and I got a 404 from the old server (which is still up and has the old HH site on it). Am I the only one who gets the *old* hosthideout? I'm guessing this is a PacBell/SBC issue, as I can get to it fine via IP, but traceroutes to the site (using the domain: http://hosthideout.com) end up elsewhere.

It's just PacHell then. Figures. I'll be moving soon and might look for a different DSL or cable provider.

:uzi: PacBell/SBC

I use SBC/Ameritech DSL, and hate them. Not only is the performance kind of crappy, and that their support team is manned by a bunch of retarded monkeys (not just monkeys, but retarded ones), but they also tried to overbill us not once, not twice but 3 times. Unfortunately Cable isn't an option and they the only DSL provider here.

So here's the story of them trying to overbill us;

We ordered hosting in about October of last year. They finally came and verified out line integrity in December(or something like that) and then shipped out our DSL Modem. However they decided they were also going to bill us for October through December even though we didn't have the DSL. We refused, they shut off our main phone line. (We have 3 phone lines) So we then threatened them with some legal stuff, and they backed down and offered us a 200 dollar gift. We took it obviously. So then in about March we come and find our DSL line and our phone line shut off again. Call them up, they're trying to Bill us for October through December AGAIN. We threaten, they back down and everything is cool. So then in about July same thing happened over again. After finally talking with the higher ups things seem to be okay for now. However they were doing maintenance or something (maybe they just totally suck and their sys admins are also retarded monkeys) and our DSL would be out for an hour or two a couple times per day. Okay that's just my rant on Ameritech.

I'm with PacBell also, but I get the new hosthideout.:chicken:

:uzi: PacBell/SBC I'm considering switching to Earthlink. PacBell has poor tech support and hours of downtime (that I've experienced).

Have you cleaned your Temporary Internet Pages? -=\

Yep, and I still get the old site. It took a bit to propagate when I switched over the nameservers, however once it did I was like *whew*, then a few hours later I clicked on something and got the old site. A few minutes later, back here. But now, I only get the old site from this machine.

I know it is more than just clearing the Temporary Internet Pages because I've run trace routes from my machine to the URL and end up at the old server :cry:

Hmm no problem here. Anyways you should put the old chat system up. I kind of liked it.

The old system meaning the phpchat one? Even when we had WHT linked to the chat (button at the top of the forum), it really didn't do all that well. I don't think the IRC ones have done well either. I think my chattin' days are over...

On that note, completely unrelated, anyone want to buy a cheap Digichat license ;) :D

I've noticed resolution problems with SBC and a site/reseller account having incorrect, or missing A entries. (SBC user here)
