View Full Version : Hosting Resellers - Any comments
Has anyone heard of or done business with any of the following companies...
www.ace-host.net
www.lyphia.com
www.1fasthost.com
They all have decent reseller programs, just wanted to know about support, uptime, etc...
Thanks

When I was on a reseller account I tried using Lypha. After 10 days of ordering and 4 e-mails they never set up my account. I e-mailed them again and told them to forget it. Never got a reply.
There are some mix reviews about ace-host.net over at webhostingtalk.com - do a search there for ace-host.net and see whatcha get.

Once you have a "short-list" ask again to ensure some of the companies you are considering aren't falling apart or has a poor reputation.
Also be sure to ask presales questions to deteremine how quickly these companies respond to customer questions. If they have bad pre-sales habbits they are sure to have bad service/support.
Good luck.
Cheers
Jeff
I have them as a webhost, I've have them for about 4 months now, they allow you to do just about anything through cpanel...
I do agree it takes about 5-6 days to set it up...
their severs bandwith kick butt
I have notice (through cpanel you are allowed to view sever status) that the severs are loaded durring peak hours... I haven't ever have them down. I host about 6 accounts w/ a reseller program
lately it seem the mysql sever dies, for about 10 min. 1 once per month, sux because most of my site are sql driven.....
I give them a B-

While it is not on your list, I can vouch for www.kualo.com. The best service in the business.

I have been with ace-host.net for 4 or 5 months of sheer torment. If something can go wrong, they'll add it to their services. If you ask for help they'll say go to a forum. If they supply in-built scripts they'll break and they'll leave you high and dry. As an IT professional my time is quite valuable- the savings I made going with ave-host.net were definitely lost.
I am so annoyed with them I am trawling the net to warn others.

I don't know much about Lyphia.com. But I think they had an affiliate program that I once joined

We had hosted our web-site oe2000.com via a reseller surebrowse.com.
Recently due to a major worm attack we became a victim of a huge SPAM attack.
While the surebrowse guys were trying to recover the situation for us by deleting the junk mails from our site, the people at Ace-Host simply blocked access to our site.
Then they did the most apalling thing ever -
They simply erased all our files and data.
And that too without giving us any warning or notice to take a back-up.
They simply said "That account has been terminated. Account was using excessive amounts of server resources. Emails were bouncing all around because they contained file attachments we do not allow and all the email boxes were full. This caused exim to overload several times due to thousands of bouncing emails associated with this domain.
To uphold the integrity of our service, account was terminated."
Now they are asking us to recreate the account.
When last contacted they said that some rule / agreement was violated.
Does anybody think the Ace-Host people did the right thing?
Is this what customer service is all about?
Is this why Ace-host never reveals its true ownership details like postal address, telephone number etc. to anybody?
I wish everybody who looks forward to hosting themselves with ace-host, to know about this incidence and brace themselves up for what is in store!
Reseller-Center.com has a good reputation, you may want to give them a go.
I would not let $10-15 keep you from getting a quality reseller account so that you can keep your clients once you acquire them.
lots of great choices, keep us up to date as to which one you choose and perhaps a review would do. As for httpme and bluewho, your more so paying for their reputation then anything, though at the same time they are good but they are like Nike. Good, but expensive.

I say go Dedicated or VPS
Why trust someone else with your sites? I refer a few clients of mine to a friend that I do business with cause he has "Great" deals and about 30 servers that are Top notch. I am not saying ours are not but I am not into leading people to lies. For example, If I can only host around 30 accounts with 24/7 support etc... why would I want to take 60 accounts and leave 30 behind with no support what so ever? (those are not my stats but just a plan example)
I feel that a lot of Companies that offer reseller are over loading thier servers any ways.
Plus you want to know where their support is coming from if they have any too.
I think I am off topic so I will get going :)
Thanks,
Frank

That's my recommendation as well.
I have used these people for years and am extremely satisfied with them. All of my clients go thru them. None yet have experienced any downtime. The support is also very good. They respond right away and your customers will recieve support from them. I'm happy with them. :)

I use unithosting, they are a member here as well, good solid support and server uptime.
