What is your favorite of each? Please provide a link to the developer's website, and reasons as to why the particular software is your favorite.

After tried phplivesupport, clickchatsold and others, I found that nothing beat to Liveperson.com in Live Chat.

About Help Desk, I'm still seaching, I use phpsupportdesk.com but I'm not very happy with it.
Most of the help desk have their own Knowledge base/FAQ integrated.

Best helpdesk I've used so far is DeskPro - expensive, but it helps getting the job done; I believe padders has DeskPro 2.0 coming out pretty soon - take a look at the screenshots he posted, looks very nice and i don't have a doubt it would be as easy and as great to use as DeskPro 1.1 is...

for Knowledge Base/FAQ, never used one so... no comment.

Help chat has been HumanClick from Bravenet (paid version)

Help Desk is PhpSupportDesk (and it has a FAQ with it)

Haven't really done a knowledgebase

I am a perldesk fan myself! :banana:
Live chat is done on IM such as msn/icq/Y!
Faq is just a page! Its all simple with us, which makes it simple for clients!

We use oneorzero for helpdesk/knowledge base, chattist for livechat and another for FAQ

I must say I agree with oritsfree that ModernBill sure looks great, havent used it from the host side .. .but I might do that soon ..

Live Chat: Between PHPLive and ClickChatSold I prefer PHPLive, mostly because I can install it on my own server and I don't need to download any software.

Helpdesk: Perldesk is great. Simple and easy to use. It also has a built-in knowledge base.

We use ModernBill (http://www.modernbill.com) for both the HelpDesk and Knowledge Base and it works great. It's wonderful to be able to provide a totally integrated billing, helpdesk and knowledge base system.

ModernBill isn't the cheapest system but in my opinion it's well worth it.

PhpLiveHelper - cheap and effective

Perl Desk - very easy to use and modify

Waiting for PEM to be installed - should be full billing capabilities.

PHPLive is definetly my favourite online chat system, we have been using it and i think if you can afford it, its realy worth it!
